I could definitely see Philadelphia trying to land Jones, but I can't imagine Couturier + 11th + 2nd being offered. It just seems like an overpayment to me. I think Zadorov might be on Philly's radar.

Until they announce MacKinnon or Jones, I am not buying what anyone is selling about it. They have been going back and forth on that selection. Either way its a cant miss player. Im honestlty torn who I would rather have (maybe more to Jones bc when MacKinnon interviews he sounds like Napolean Dynamite)

I think you're undervaluing Couturier a bit. They'd be crazy to turn down Couturier and the 11th.

I wouldn't personally the oilers are barren in depth at centre all the way down to the echl haha where they have defensive prospects that are doing really well in okc plus lindholm sounds like he could be a possible steal at seven if calgary doesn't take him first. I would love to have letang on our team but it would take more then our first and we would just open up another roster hole tryingto get him.

I don't see Stastny as a player TOR would give Gardiner up for, especially since they can sign him next year if they wanted in all likelihood...

No, you don't even think of Stastny for Gardiner, even if it's just "the main pieces". If you're going to trade a good young player with YEARS of RFA and being Leafs property, you do it for something in a similar situation back. In other words, you target something more like Ryan O'Reilly. That would be more realistic. That said, the Avs probably won't be trading O'Reilly.

I can see the Leafs trading for Stastny, but given he's not really producing all that well, hasn't for years, has a huge ridiculous contract, and one more year to UFA, I'd say a more realistic trade would see something like Carter Ashton and a second round pick. Stastny doesn't carry much value anymore.

Projected to roughly 40 points over this year, if it were a full season. 57 two years ago, 53 the year before. what can you expect out of him this year, 50 points? For $6.5M? It's a partial salary dump. Just because he's paid like one, doesn't necessarily make him a first line centre. If it does, well hey, Komisarek and a second for Stastny ought to do the trick.

Stastny, who's roughly a 50 point centre over the past few years, paid line an elite centre, last year of a contract..... that kind of player holds little to no value.

I try to hold myself back as much as I can but after hearing this news and knowing the draft is soon its hard not to jump to conclusions on what I hope so bad will happen

This whole Stastny as a #1 center or traded for a 1st round pick is ridiculous. Enough already, if he was such a great asset then he would have been dealt already seeing as he was relegated to 3rd line duties and Colorado wasn't good. He's more of a buyout candidate (if Aves were in cap trouble) then he is an excellent trade asset.

Stastny is overrated, injury riddled and his contract doesn't help his cause either. He's been mentioned to be on the trade block for over a year now and COL still hasn't found a deal for him.

Awesome, give him some elite scoring wingers and that will elevate him to a level of bottom rung first line centre production. Exactly what you want out of your "first line centre" that you're paying one of the highest salaries in the league.

I wonder what the over/under on how many people from how many different teams have to tell this guy that he's out to lunch, before he realizes he was being a total moron with his little laughy face icon and flippant remark about Leaf fans.

So far we have 3 people from 2 different teams. My guess is it's going to take quite a few more for this guy to get a clue.
