Yah I know what your saying. Its like when the Oilers took Alex Plante. He was huge and mean and they thought he could turn into something. Risky for sure. - Iggysbff
Just keep Fistric. Even BBC, put that (frank)er on a diet living with a vegan.

6'5 230lb 18 year olds have a lot more work than a guy like Eberle did though. - Lahey
true that, look at tinordi! the guy is a long time coming but hes going to the habs charra lite. for years he had to work onn his skating. habs def in the next couple years is going to be (frank)ing tough to beat.
subban, emelin, tinordi, beaulieu, nygrin, dietz, pateryn, georges (frank)kkkk sooo sick |

ya brossoit is what i think the habs need as afr as developing a future goalie. i figure out of ramo et al. hed likely fetch a decent amount on the trade front.
as for gio well i dunno, i don't think hed get a first and prospects... with louie hes a first rounder who will have a great career, solid 2 way 2nd line c. elis a bruising dd, diaz slots right in to man the pp and well the 2nd is picks that cal needs. that said maybe mtls 1st would be up for grabs. we do have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds.
would be nice, i see gio fitting in nicely with the habs back end. do you see him fitting in to the future with the flames? or is he going to be trade bait you think come next trade deadline... - munky123
I really like him as a player....that being said I truly think he is a little over-rated as he is fairly limited in his abilities. He's a warrior, a good playoff type guy IMO. But he's a guy to help someone win a cup, not really a guy I would build a franchise around. I kind of hope the Flames dangle him out there a bit, I think they could really get a lot for him. Love the guy but like I said, he's not a franchise guy, and I think you could trade him for someone that could be. |

totally agree with takin a dd in the top 10. i must have missed the first part of the convo. i was more thinking the oil don't need a off fwd, more like a solid 2 way forward ala plekanec's or we can always dream, datsuyk. - munky123
Don't get me wrong I know what we need, but by the time Zadorov is ready to be that guy we might have 3 other guys that play a similar role.
My general thinking is stay away from dd and role players until later on. Marchand and Shaw, anyone know where they were drafted? Ference, Seidenberg, Hjalmarsson?
Don't waste the early picks on too many question marks. If you are CGY or CBJ and you really have 3 1sts this year then it's a bit of a different story. |

ya man... i mean Gallagher was a 5th rounder. fr teams like edm and mtl youre right, you can take some chances on development. |

Even though this is supposedly a deep draft, and even if the Jackets were willing to trade both of those picks to the Oilers for our 7th, I wouldn't do it. The odds of both of those picks turning into NHL regulars probably isn't that great... I'd stick with the 7th. |

not necessarily true.. Giroux was a bottom end 1st getzlaf, perry carter etc etc i don't know all the players at all well enough to be able to make a definite call but there's no guarantee at 7 either |

Obviously there are exceptions, but overall, the odds that both those picks will be turn into regular NHL players are not that great... The odds are definitely better that a #7 will be a regular in the NHL, and have more of an impact. |

The worse thing for me is Mark Pysyk, I mean Griffin Reinhart I mean Curtis Lazar. They are going to out think themeselves and think because they seen more of this kid that he is better then he really is. This year they actually can convince themselves to take their WHL poster boy. |

With the 7th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers are so proud to select: From the Edmonton Oil Kings, Curtis Lazar...

Come on! Not much of a message board anyways and it seems like Cloutier is dead or something so we need to go "somewhere" to post! |

The Flames now have seven selections; 1st round (6, 22, 28), 3rd round (67), 5th round (137), 6th round (157), 7th round (187).
Do we need more? Will there be a trade to get a 2nd, and 4rth rounder?
Personally, I feel that 7 is all you need every year. |

At this stage in the rebuild I don't know that it would hurt if you could get a couple more darts to throw a the board. Maybe not 1st and 2nds as they cost more, but if you could get a couple more mid to late round picks why not? |

2 years probably, he's nowhere close to his brother in terms of talent and it took Michael awhile. |

I'd at least like to see him make the jump to N.A. for next season. Then we will be able to tell a little better. |
