There's some movement to promote the development of Canadian goalies or something. - cygnus41
Sounds like Canadians. Theyre the greatest of all things. |

If the CHL was so worried about the amount of talent in their league perhaps they shouldnt be blocking talented European goalies from entering their league. They are hypocrites. - Ryan_Wilson
This blows.
I wonder if Samuelsson will ever get a chance in the NHL. He seems to be like Alex Grant: a carreer AHLer.

That goalie rule is asinine on so many levels. I'm thinking that we will see more European goalies in NCAA hockey. |

Or the USHL. |

You have to be 20 years old by December 31st of that season to be eligible for the AHL, or have already played in 4 junior seasons.
This absurd rule screwed over Grigorenko this year, as he was way too good for juniors but not quite ready for prime time. - Ryan_Wilson
I stand corrected then. So, you can be 18 and play in the NHL if you are good enough, but can't play in the AHL at 18? Bottom line, if a kid has nothing more to prove in major juniors; comes to camp and impresses, but is the last one cut, he should get the ticket to the AHL. I don't get that rule at all.

Yep, pretty awesome isn't it. If you recall it was NHL or bust for Jordan Staal and the Pens decided to keep him up. |

..and it was the right decision for sure. I wonder how many kids we have that could actually step in for us if given a chance. |

Imagine how much more entertaining the AHL would be if each team got a couple high draft picks each season and got rid of the ECHL level guys at the bottom of the roster?
For the most part, AHL hockey blows. I'm a hockey fan who works in an arena where an AHL team plays, and I barely watch it. |

Bobby Clarke was a clean hockey player. You cheered for that thug. Admit it.

Exactly ... I'd imagine a kids development would be better off playing in the AHL instead of a fourth year of the AHL, or even a third, if the kid is good enough to hang. This is something that really should be looked at further. |

I've had former teammates playing here in Rochester and I never went. It's a poor product for the most part. Very dull games IMO. |

I just don't respect how on one hand the CHL wants its hand held so they can keep talent. Then on the other hand they are prejudiced against players because of where they are from and what position they play. It's absurd. |

Niskanen is young too. The thing is Sbisa hasn't been a fan favorite the last couple years. Some guys on their board would trade him for a 3rd round pick....sounds like Nisky here |

what do we thing of the reported 4 year 18-22 million deal Dupuis is looking for?
What does he realistically come in at now? |

I think he'll be playing elsewhere if that's his price. |
