You must totally forget the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 00s then. - Oneonta Penguin
Just calling the present state. Clearly some dirty past players, w/ Clarke at the top of the list.
The game has clearly changed though - I don't enjoy seeing the Richards/Booth type hits. It is one thing to see a bone jarring, punishing hit. It is another to see a guy get a concussion.
The players are much faster/stronger and the equipment is different.
Too much off topic.
Cheers! |

One of my tweets during a philly pittsburgh game stated the following: How is a 4th line plug capable of taking an entire team off of their game to run around and chase him. Pretty much sums up Rinaldo. Aside from the stupid penalties he is very good at what he does. And no I don't consider any of the above mentioned as dirty players. Cross Checks and physical play are part of the game. - dbell646
I'm a big fan of Zac. He just needs to continue his discipline and avoid charging penalties. |

I have confidence that we will get a deal done with both.
What is troubling to me is that there is no glaring hole in this team that can be fixed by bringing in a free agent, besides behind the bench. Keep in mind we have no forward depth in the minors.
Bennett Crosby Duper
Kuni Geno Neal
Cooke Sutter ???
???-Jussi-???
Garbage pile Kennedy(sadly 2m is just too much) GlASS, Vitale, Adams, Engo, Eaton, Iggy, Morrow, Murray, Nisky, and Jeffery.
Despres-Letang
Orpik-Martin
Tuzzo-??? - nbartley9
Adams shouldn't be garbage pile. He fills a role that is needed. He is a pretty good PK guy and cheap too.

Adams would be hard for me to part with as well, I just think it may be the right time. |

Too slow. No longer intimidating. Casts bad shadow over a top organization |

Why would it be hard to let go of an old, slow waiver player who can be replaced by any wbs forward? |

I can tell you from experience that once you understand it, it's still kind of ridiculous. |

i don't think Cooke is worth the trouble. Everytime he delivers a big somewhat illegal hit your automatically gonna have bad blood with the opposing team who would then target their star players (crosby, malkin). Perfect example would be the Islanders a few years ago he starting trouble with teams that are even relevant and then following games have been all out brawls. He's essentially putting the team and its player in trouble. |

Interesting tidbit:
Depaoli from TIOPS says that the market value for Dupuis is 4 years, 18-22 mil - cap1681
I truly believe that Dupuis will resign here and that it will hinge more on length than $$$. |

Bad example. He didn't have anything to do with the Islanders brawl. That was beause our back up goalie (who is no longer with the team) knocked out Depietro with a one hitter quitter. |

I have to disagree with this. Adams is a fearless penalty killer, a solid 4th line grinder and respected in the locker room. He has a very small cap hit and is certainly worth bringing back. |

@tpanotchCSN - Flyers would move Matt Read in a deal for Bernier. But Kings would likely want Jakub Voracek as main piece - speed, scoring. |

Asking for Voracek is a bit much for a backup goalie with few miles in the NHL. But, then again, the Flyers are desperate and if there is a GM that can't help himself, its Holmgren.

Flyers have him signed for 3 more years and he just became a legit 1st liner. Doubt he goes. |

Crazy request. The Flyers would be dumb to trade Voracek. |

The Flyers would likely have to take some salary back.
Voracek would get the Kings to about $57 mil. For that $7 million left, they need to resign Voynov, a backup goalie, and six other players to get to a 23 man roster. |

If i'm homer, i wait until July 5th....if they don't trade him, give him an offer sheet and make it at around 4 mil. The Flyers would lose a 1st and a 3rd next season, but would get their goalie without having to give up any current roster guys. No way LA matches that deal. They wouldn't want almost 10 mil tied up in their 2 goalies next season. |

exactly ... anything is possible. After all, look at what he just gave an aging PMD with poopty D for a contract.
