What?
I kessel trade worked out well then. - burn
Did that trade specifically yield better results for the leafs?
No.
Keep trying buddy. |

For me, of the names mentioned in this blog, it makes much more sense to me, if the leafs sign either Nabokov or Bryzgalov in a backup role to Reimer.
No reason to give up assets for Bernier. - B-Wforever
Nabokov would be the guy the other is just a head case that we don't need.
Let him go back to Phoenix ah soon to be Seattle

Last year, the cost for Bernier at the draft was reported to be Scrivens and Frattin for Bernier, and the Leafs wouldn't go for it. This year, I can't imagine that price has changed and Frattin's value has only gone up. The Leafs would be dumb to do it this time. That kid has potential. - tkecanuck341
Thats actually not a bad deal but maybe instead of frattin it will be someone else |

Not sure what Bernier has accomplished that makes everyone think he is better than Reimer?
Sounds like a case of "grass is always greener" to me. - B-Wforever

Bryzgalov is not a backup.
He got thrown under the bus by Philly because...well, that's what Philly does.
See Bobrovsky, S.
Or Cechmanek, R.
Or hell, just about any guy who has ever played net in Philly since Lindberg. |

LA is asking quite abit for an unproven goalie. I think he will be offer sheeted by new jesrsey or the flyers and if they do that they would only have to give up a second round pick for him since it will be around the three million range. Toronto has reimer and scrivens anyways. |

It wouldn't be a whole heck of alot...Nonis wont do it, if it does.
Again, if improved results are attained.....assets will be forgotten about. - Fakepartofme
You don't think it will cost much?
Why pay anything to get a guy that isn't going to play? That isn't better than what's already here? |

I can't argue with Bryzgalov or Bobrovsky. However, I got to see Cechmanek play in LA. That guy sucked. |

No.

Really? It didn't yield the 6th best offensive player this year? The guy that has scored 3rd most in last 2 years?
Yeah keep trying indeed.
So if the leafs trade 1st for bernier and he sits on the bench, and the leafs Do better next year it's a good trade? Thankfully the leafs have better management than that. |

Bernier is better than Scrivens IMO.
In the East, he may even prove to be than Reimer....who hasn't even played a full season either.
I really dont think the leafs will acquire Bernier...but if they do...he will play. |

Reimer + Bernier > Reimer + Scrivens + D'Amigo and a 3rd. I checked these figures myself. Even used a calculator. It's legit. |

oh, I don't know about that. Remember, if one slips by the goalie, there is no fixing that in those cases. And you're advocating pulling the goalie.
Edit - okay, well, I guess there is an "accidental" nudge while she's going down the stairs. |

I'd be up for acquiring Bernier 100%, would be the perfect combination splitting the season 50/50 between him and Reimer. Clearly a better tandem then with Scrivens. As for Bozak, don't let the door hit you on the way out, good riddance. Whichever team signs him for his salary demands, will greatly be regretting it for years to come. IE: Stajan. |

Ya this year....and when was the trade?
Kessel has been a great scorer every year he has been here, but the trade itself didn't improve the results of the team for the first several years. Hence why people keep referring to it (right or wrong)
And use your head...Nonis will not be trading a 1st rounder for Bernier...come on...get real. I believe LA wanted a 2nd and 3rd liner last time there were rumours of a Bernier to TO trade. |
