I don't want to speculate too far into the future because this series is far from over, but what can the team possibly do this off-season? The team currently has just over $2 million in cap space. Presuming Dave Bolland gets dealt, and Steve Montador gets bought out, the team would have a tad over $7 million in cap space. Now, you MUST re-sign the RFA's Nick Leddy and Marcus Kruger. In regards to UFA's, it's safe to presume that all but Bickell, and perhaps Rozsival are for sure not coming back next season. Let's assume the team re-signs Bickell due to his playoff performance to a $3.5 million dollar annual contract. That would put the team pretty close to the salary cap. Realistically, who could the team possibly trade? Toews is untouchable, as is Keith. Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa are invaluable to the organization. I really can't see a situation where they AREN'T going to be back next season. Patrick Kane and Brent Seabrook? I'd say that Patrick Kane is likely staying put, and Brent Seabrook could perhaps be dealt in the right deal, though it wouldn't make sense at this point given how the team lacks size from the blue line.
Going forward, regardless of what happens in this series, I don't expect much change, if at all. Maybe a Brookbank-type signing like JJ suggested, but for those clamoring for a PP QB and 2L C, I wouldn't expect it barring trade - which for as long as Stan and co. are in charge, won't happen. "They'll be happy with what they have." - TommyHawk
Edmonton would love to deal for Bolland AND Seabrook...providing the hawks would take pic's,prospects ,2nd tier players or value contracts. The Kids aint getting dealt |

The Hawks remind me of the 2011 Canucks...great team but second best. Boston is and was back then the better deeper team. Just my opinion, which is what this is I believe? An open forum opinion based website. - LeftCoaster
In total Boston is not a deeper team, however their defensive core is deeper than the Hawks.

They also forecheck, drive the net and play great defense. - philco28
But Kane does have the soccer rocker mullet going... Here is the strangest part of this series.. CC is keeping us in it. Who woulda thunk that? Where is the alcohol!?!?!?! |

It is time for Q to quit micro managing this team. The lines tonight were a joke. F Chara put Teows and Kane back together. It works. If for whatever reason Hossa was a ? for this game how do you not have Smith suit up for warmups? Powerplay blaaaaaa |

As I said the last few days, show me film, show me shift, situation where 25 turned it over for a goal or a chance? Site it chapter and verse? Maybe if Jamal Mayers was in, we would have had a better chance.
Anyhow, I get dumber each time I respond to you. I can't help it that you do not have the capacity to comprehend. There is not contradiction. Hawks 11 - 5 with stalberg in during playoffs. 2 - 2 without. In case you do not know, I do not make the roster decisions. Q does, and he figured out that it might be good to go back to him. He decided that. Last time it worked.....all season it worked. all playoffs it worked. This is not opinion, these are facts. Split hairs all you want..look at the record. - TrueGrit
Here is a fact......even tho the team is unbeatable with him in the lineup, he was sat. Not once, but twice.
You have ranted, no, cried for days how vik was gonna make a difference.
How many goals has he scored in his playoff career? Simple question.
I'm thankful you don't make the
Im thankful you don't make the lineup, Dorothy hamill and Brian boytono wouldn't be fun to watch in the Stanley cup final.
But you keep railing about vik and whatever other dribble you can princess |

I didn't think Toews was hurt (though lack of execution/bad luck) but the shot of him icing his wrist during the game on the bench does not inspire confidence |

Wow, two comments about Stalberg. I mean if Carcillo or Bollig were in, they likely score 4 goals right. Here is something hard for you to follow, you don't get those chances without him playing, but go ahead and let that put your mind into the endless hourglass.
Maybe, if he had been playing the last few games he would have been sharper. To pick and isolate 25 for any issue, other than peoples hate for me and logic, is simply comedy. Chicago Sports fan syndrome. Stumble on some group think and beat it to death. And when faced with facts, shout it louder.
Kane, Keith Seabrook missed net in third, right in slot. Damn Victor. - TrueGrit

Also like 80% of the board predicted Hawks in 7, that means they'd have to lose 3 games. So far they've lost 2, don't get why everyone has declared the series is over |

It was a dark day here in Chicago when AV got fired...we were hoping that douche-bag was going to be a fixture in Vancouver for years to come. |
