No doubt we are playing like chickenpoops. But, what I don't get OR like is how big are these forwards? No doubt Boston is bad but outside of Horton, lucic, and the 5 minutes of Thornton how imposing are the rest? That is what makes it even worse. All of their forwards play bigger. Even ones who aren't known for it. Kane never will in his life, but the others and the hawk D should really man up. If guys like kelly, Bergeron, paille, Marchand, even krecji and seguin are imposing their will out there

Boston is more committed AS A TEAM to playing the body than we are. And all the hit apologists in the world cannot argue that Boston's physicality is not DICTATING the last 5.5 periods of this series.

we'll see, i'll ask his cousin the next time i see her, see if they talked recently. i don't know , maybe SB is saving that spot for josef marha so why would he be interested in Briere.
- wonthecup10

At the time I was excited about Marha. Shows how bad that dead period was. do you remember how we got him? I can't remember the trade or what we got for him? Or was he waived. how bad was the front office back then? another guy I was excited about was tomas Gronman. Or something like that. Can't even remember how to spell his name

That's 100 % correct. Boston is a great TEAM. They all buy into the system of relentless pressure and physical presence. I really don't know what went wrong for them last year. It was last year they really came together for me. I still think it was mostly all thomas when they won the Cup. But last year is when they really became a dominant TEAM. I really believe they will be a serious Cup threat for the next 5 years. Or until Chara retires. I see final 4 appearances at the least

I think the time is now to slide Sharp to L2-Center. He's faster than Zus and as good on the dot. Have him center with Hoss.

Reunite Toews and Kane on L1 and give them a big body (Bickell) to crash the net and create some space.

Move Zus to either third or fourth line center. Bolland takes the other.

A Line 3 of Shaw and Smith on the wings is pretty steady and hard working. The main goal for this line is create energy, and an even +/-. The 4th line of Krugs/Frolik and Bolland/Zus expects to be steady the way Fro and Krugs are playing.

Or you could scratch Smith and try Bollig on the 4th line and move Frolik to Line 3, he has done well there at times in the past. A L3 of Frolik and Shaw on the wings is interesting.

Scratch Stalberg.

Double shift L1 and L2 as needed...ask your leaders to lead, make plays...here are the minutes go win. If the Bs shut our top guys down, tip your hat and get ready for the off-season.

So do I. So do I. The jeff Pauls, geoff peters, remi royers, eric Lecomptes, ty jones, dmitri nabokov, yakubov, vorobiev, leroux, casey hankinson. Marty wilford. This organization was a total joke. Makes you appreciate what this core really has accomplished

Wait so who is on line 2? Sharp, hossa, and who? I always liked frolik and Bolland together. I think they would be good with shaw. Actually maybe smith with hossa and sharp? I know Hossa and smith both played a huge role in smith's OT winner against Vancouver. So a 4th line of zeus, kruger, and Bollig or Carbomb?

Yeah I hate all his crying poor while raising prices every year. Even though I rip on the hawks as much as anyone, especially over the past 2 games, I still think it is a great team. All it takes is getting 2 tough and skilled players up front and 1 on d for this team to be a serious threat every year. A team who could face boston in finals for 3 or 4 straight years

Probably not a good idea to take Toews and ask him to play 23 minutes after facing undoubtedly the hardest post-season of any player left playing

Does Boston become a flawed team if the Hawks beat them? Serious question, and I know everyone has assumed its over (its not) but what would separate them from the this Hawks team if they lose? Would you suggest the Bruins blow it up because losing would suggest they can't beat a team that can fly with its best player having torn ligaments in his wrist?

Its not over...but...boston has shown they can adjust to the hawks (after game 1). And the hawks can't keep playing like there afraid of the puck. Again we show no push back, our toughest player is a buck 80 soaking wet and 5 foot nothing... boston can hit, score, and play good all game long with no letting up we are playing like were beat ,with the exception of a couple of guys like JJ said the better TEAM is winning.

This is it hawks play like bastards or go home....its nut check time.

I mentioned this yesterday and I'm wondering if anyone else has caught this...
Tony Amonte the former Hawk ripped Hossa for missing the game the other night...
Amonte is a tool to say the least. I'm just wondering how many Cup Finals Mr. Amonte has played in? HawkintheD responded that Amonte lacks the willpower - to stay away from a box of donuts...lol...I'm sure that McCub won't be planning another heritage night for Mr. Amonte anytime soon. Stay classy Tony.

There have always been questions about Hossa's pain threshold. With the amount of games he misses it sure makes you wonder.

Everyone who has posted here in the last couple of months has been correct. Just not at the same time. Just about all posts have made a point. I think that's an example of how inconsistent the Chicago team really is. They have the horses, but they are playing the best "team" they have played all year. I know it's tough to watch for most, but I find it interesting to watch the line in a blender approach. Not a Q guy here especially for his inability to make in game system adjustments to what the opposition is doing. But if Hossa is hurt enough to sit out and Toews is obviously playing with an upper body issue, then Chicago doesn't figure to win anyway. I posted 2 months ago they will go as their PP goes. The only surprising thing to me is that they got this far with that mess with the man advantage.

I feel like we all talked about this ad nauseum around the trade deadline. We needed/wanted somebody to man the right point on the power play, we wanted a 2nd line center to win fo and play with either Kane or hoss, and we wanted a bigger top 6 fwd to play with toews and/or provide net presence on the pp. Stan decided to stand pat. I don't know that he was wrong. It's confusing because even though we need ALL of those things, we are 3 wins from a cup and, if we don't, I'd be more inclined to point to the lack of production from toews rather than the roster issues. Weird, I never thought I'd say that!
- miked23

Toews is hurt. Count on it.
