Which proves, IMO, Q was full of sh!t when he says that what happened in the warmup had nothing to do with Hossa being out. If they knew there was a chance Hossa might be out (ie game time decision), then Smith would have warmed up just in case. - Ogilthorpe2
Yeah, there's usually about 3 or 4 extra guys warming up each game. So having Smith warm up, would not have been weird at all. |

Scoring on the power play will make the Bruins think twice about the hooking and holding and create more scoring opportunities five on five. Right now the bruins can defend on the edge of the rules and if the ref calls a penalty, no big deal. If the Hawks PP is actually scary, then five on five opens up too. - coldsteelonice
Everyone said before this series that both PP's were bad, so they would be irrelevant to the outcome of ths series. I think what we're seeing now is just the opposite. Neither one is particularly good, so when one scores, even just a couple of times and the other doesn't, it becomes a huge factor in the series.
At least Q can laugh about it. |

Putting in Carcillo will not happen
The team philosophy is not built around his style
Not right not wrong but it is too late to shift 67 games in
The team is what it is win or lose
You dance with who you brought
Debate the philosophy in the off season but the team is built on moving the puck quickly from our end to theirs and built on team speed and timely scoring
Win or lose it is what it is and the bangers will sit - PEIHawkFan
Then what was the point of putting Bollig in gm1 and 2? Carcillo if healthy enough could at least give a little spark to the boys and might even put a little fear into some of the Bruins. He also has some skill that Bollig does not have. If you were worried about a bad penalties, Bolland has that covered. |

Was wondering that myself. I also think that statement is false because Daryl Sutter is physically incapable of laughter. The expression he often wears could be characterized as if were a pickle sucking on a lemon (word it the other way and it could be misconstrued and general fodder for the board). - HawkintheD
Some of you guys are harsh on ol' Darryl...
I still have fond memories of the guy as both player, and coach of OUR Chicago Blackhawks.
And I think he has a great sense of humor...it's subtle, but it's there. |

Our PP blows chunks bigger than the Titanic.
S'not rocket science -- and let me also say this -- even if we don't have what any of you guys would call a cannon on the point, I'd say to Leddy and Seabrook (2 of our best) to simply aim for those Bruins in the lanes.
What????
Yep. Any player worth his salt can typically put that shot high or low. And I'd tell 'em to fire a few up waist high. You watch how fast those m'fers will get out of the way. Hurt 'em. It's one thing to take a shot off shin pads and quite another aimed at places without pads -- stomach high -- glove high. Let me say, that puck hurts in those places. Watch the lanes open up all of a sudden.
Similarly, I'd also say to do a little headhunting on Rask. The puck literally needs to be aimed at his head -- not to the side -- because the purpose is to knock the guy senseless, get him off his game, shake him up. Because if the puck is aimed there, it's either going off his cage, his mask or even better, will end up very high on the chest, preferably just above the chest protector and right below the mask. It's a spot EVERY goalie hates to get a puck because there is NO coverage there at all.
I'd start there. And watch things change. |

The following is a list of adjectives that might be used to describe the Hawks PP...
The Hawks PP is________________
abominable, amiss, atrocious, awful, bad news, beastly, blah, bottom out, bummer, careless, cheap, cheesy, crappy, cruddy, crummy, defective, deficient, diddly, dissatisfactory, downer, dreadful, erroneous, fallacious, faulty, garbage, godawful, grody, gross, grungy, icky, imperfect, inadequate, incorrect, inferior, junky, lousy, not good, off, poor, raunchy, rough, sad, slipshod, stinking, substandard, synthetic, the pits, unacceptable, unsatisfactory.
Take your pick. - Ogilthorpe2
ALL OF THE ABOVE and Kompon is still a TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAT

He was a good phuck'n Marine for the club as both a player and a coach.
I'll always have a lot of respect for him. Never forget one time...he was doing what nobody but Shaw's been doing...which is PARK IN FRONT OF THE PHUCK'N NET.
As many recall, Doug Wilson had a HOWITZER of a shot and like a respectful teammate does...he usually kept his pp point rockets...on the ice...so he wouldn't endanger the good Marines like Sutter. But one game, Dougie wired one of his slappers right along the ice and it hit a d'man's stick and came up and hit Sutter right in the face. BROKEN CHEEKBONE.
Sutter's teams always HIT TOO....i'll ALWAYS RESPECT Darryl Sutter no matter how much of a clown he can be. BTW..i do a pretty good imitation of him.
P.S. Where's Wiz ? |

ah come on, he's got that dry sense of humor, actually a great guy!
June 1 postgame Darryl Sutter
On how he reacted to the team leading 1-0 after one period despite being outshot 17-2:
“Fortunate. How do I react? Just like normal. You should say, ‘How do you feel?’ [Reporter: How did you feel after that?] Fortunate.” |

On whether he enjoyed playing and coaching in Chicago:
“Yep. Young guy, old guy, single guy, married guy, with children. Lots of sports. Two baseball teams. Football team. A great basketball team. A really good hockey team. So I enjoyed it, yeah.” |

Wouldn't be surprised if there were some "PO'd at Q" players in that dressing room with the decision to throw a 2 months inactive Smith into the lineup; farting around with line combinations; limiting Bickell's minutes; Bollig dressing ahead of Stalberg or Carcillo.
What's next - Montador in the lineup tomorrow night? Hopefully Q reminded him to bring his skates on the trip. |

So if Carcillo is NOT warming up before game 4, it can only mean that he's going to play on the 1st line with Toews and Kane, and Q doesn't want to tip his hand. Right?
Or maybe Carbomb, B52 and Mayers on the 1st line Wednesday. That'll confuse 'em...
Seriously, Carcillo is not dressing for game 4. Hawks have to just play this like it's another regular hockey game and try to win it the way they won 36 + 13 other games this year. It's doable.

I agree and would never have put Bollig in
He had little or no input in either game except the give away in OT in game 2 |

Good point and I hope like hell the PP comes alive
Just not expecting it to because the Bruins PK like the Hawks is deadly |

Bollig's one hand on the stick lack of coordination cost us game 2, but he played a very solid game in game 1. #FACT |

Speaking of the Mighty Ducks, rumor has is that they are shopping Bobby Ryan. I don't know what the asking price is but if we lose against Boston you can queue up the Kane for Ryan rumors. |

Losing Hossa is a pretty big deal, especially when 88 and 19 aren't on the scoreboard.
When will Toews turn it around? He doesn't seem right. - moondawg
Good take. Even for a Nucks fan
I just didn't think Hossa would make that much of a difference |
