If you "moderators" would step in earlier we could.
glove was stuck was posting here 7 hours. On Esplin's thread he would be gone in 8 minutes.

Myself and others have been suggesting that for months...or just don't put 5 skaters out there. No need to take a penalty, just keep one guy on the bench, then have one jump on when there's a chance for an odd man break. Seems like a good idea to me. - Ogilthorpe2
So - if you play 4 when you could be playing 5 - does that give a pass next time you get a too-many-men penalty?
Don't know , but he would be a welcome addition . And how about Q sending the same guys out every power play . He"ll switch the lines up 2 minutes into a game , but he can't switch the personal on the PP. - falcon44
Voyanov just signed for $4.1m cap hit for 6 years. Streit will be higher. A large salary would need to go to make that happen.
That V deal should set a ceiling for Leddy though.
What I have taken from watching the Bruins play this year, and specifically the past 2 weeks is that the neutral zone is the key. Boston's forwards work extremely hard to get back and take great angles, this allows the Bruins defense to maintain excellent gap control. The gap control almost always leads to a dump in, which the Bruins collect and then transition back up the ice.
The Blackhawks can succeed where the Penguins failed miserably, they can utilize their quality skating defensemen to assist them in gaining speed through the neutral zone.
Getting through the swamp in between the blue lines and gaining the offensive zone with possession is paramount to finding success. It's a hell of a lot easier said than done but the Blackhawks do have the personnel. It's not like they are employing an Engelland/Murray pairing back there.

Dangerous game for Q. because he has given everyone a lot of ammunition to criticize him...

Gotta give Q credit - took a flawed team that not many thought much of per-season (including most of us) to the finals with still a decent chance at the Cup - but some of his PO moves seem very - uhhh - strange.
He seems not to trust his players, including those who have performed: Bickell has fallen from top line to almost fewest minutes; puts a guy on the ice who hasn't played in 2 months with no warm-up because he doesn't want to "show his hand" (his words, I think); refuses to run a Toews/Kane line, even tho that line tore up LA just ten days ago; refuses to use his only big net-presence possibility on the PP....
And that's just last nite!!!!

Maybe get him for 6 year in the 3.5ms? - tredbrta
Pretty high for a still-unproven 4/5 defenseman - really would be hoping that potential will be realized.

Ummm yeah, ok. Good point, errr, statement, errr, troll?
Wait, are your trolling me in your own teams thread? - moondawg
It is OK. Some are just a little sensitive currently
Last nights game was a bit of a surprise to me. The Hawks looked flatter than I have seen them all year, is this a result of losing Hossa?
I expect a different Hawks team to show up tomorrow.
Good luck ( i guess) tomorrow. The series is tight and the teams fairly evenly matched, it should be a good one

I'm surprised too. Toews has to be hurt, like surgery after the season ends hurt. He just looks way off. That's not to say that is why the Bruins are doing what they're doing.
Lot's of craziness on this board when things don't go well. That's why its fun to read.

Losing Hossa is a pretty big deal, especially when 88 and 19 aren't on the scoreboard.
When will Toews turn it around? He doesn't seem right.

You are correct and the strength of the Bruins, controlling between the blue lines was supposed be a strength of the Hawks as well.

I think the Hawks will be going balls out Wed night
DMen pinching in all over the place and going with stretch passes
What do they have to lose
Trying to win 2-1 games is not going to cut it and Q knows this
Upside the Hawks get it going the down side they will give up a lot of odd man rushes 2 on 1 and a lot of icing calls
I also think Toews and Kane get double shifted a lot
With Bickel with Sharp and with Stalberg
AMEN !!! Total agreement here. Play to win.... not........ not to lose. ( LOVIE )
The only dilemma will be the odd man breaks so this is THE game that Crawford has to come up big. This is his chance to stand on his head and be brilliant.
Also agree on the double shifts for K and T........... and include Sharp in that too.
Not sure it works but I would rather go down in blazes trying everything versus trying to win grinding it out - PEIHawkFan

Agreed
Capt Serious needs to show up and maybe 20 cent as well. Your d is playing well but the forwards need to get greasy. Hope the next game is a gooder

Very well put... This thing is still just 2-1. Doesn't feel like it... But again 2-1. Q has done some serious head scratching stuff. The biggest to me is completely taking momentum away from 3 players. 19, 88, and 29. I think all 3 of those guys make each other better when they skate on the same line. Perfect compliment of size and skill. And Q just does away with it for no good reason. I mean... Atleast give Boston a chance to shut them down.. You want to put 19 and especially 88 in the best possible position to put up points. Q had it. And has gone away from it.
