What about a real shot from the point ? MARK STREIT ?

ANY idea if he will sign with Phili ?

- mrpaulish

Hey Mr. P Streit got 4 years and 21.5 mil deal is not official until the Flyers use their compliance buyouts...

http://espn.go.com/nhl/st...-deal-philadelphia-flyers

meanwhile anyone catch Tony Amonte's comments - the score played them earlier...Amonte said that Hossa had a groin injury and then called him out...said he didn't have a high enough pain tolerance level... Gee Tony how many finals have you played in? - Oh yeah that's right the Rags traded you before they won the Cup...guess Keenan made the right move.

Lol,

I heard someone today on the radio say that from now everytime the Hawks get a power olay rhey should went out a bottom 6 player, have him take a penalty , preferably a interference on Rask

Then it will be 4 on 4 , which should be advantage Hawks

And Rask would start to get annoyed......

The 5 on 4 advantage is killling us.

Don't know , but he would be a welcome addition . And how about Q sending the same guys out every power play . He"ll switch the lines up 2 minutes into a game , but he can't switch the personal on the PP.

Word is Flyers and Streit agreed to terms on a 4 year contract.

In fact, that team concept the Bs have has actually made a guy like Krug play much tougher than he is. The Hawks probably do the opposite - Hammer and Seabs can play much more physically than they are. This stick and puck check garbage can get really old and is certainly no way to win a series like this.

Why not just ignore the PP altogether and continue to play 5-4 exactly the same way, with the same lines as 5 on 5? IOW, not have a PP, just 5 on 5 skating with the coincidental fact of a man advantage?

I don't know
.

There really doesn't need to b any Power Play coaching.

Just send a line out there a d play.

The reason us Bruins fans come to other boards is because there are so few of us that our own thread is a ghost town. I don't think fans of the two teams playing in the SCF having differing opinions is grounds for getting so bent out of shape.
- Dano819

I don't know what was said, haven't checked in all day, but I agree 100%. That said, I hope the Bruins loose. Haha. It's been 2 great games and 1 dud, so far a good series.

I remember seeing Tony a year or two ago on tv. Not sure about his tolerance level for pain but he apparently suffers from a lack of willpower...as in the will to stay away from a box of donuts on a daily basis.

I find it funny that guys can call other guys out for that when they have no idea what the other is feeling or how it effects him. I mentioned earlier it would be one thing if the player were Potsy who in his day was known for taking random night's off.

Hossa doesn't take night's off in the regular season so can't imagine he wouldn't go last night if he was able.

Forgetting whatever scheme they're trying to play (and once they can actually enter the zone and have some kind of setup) - PP gives you exactly what we say is missing - the best players (Toews, Kane, Hossa [when he's not too much of a wuss]) with the puck with time and space.

USE that time and space - move with the puck and without it - cycle down low - get to the net.

Instead of just standing around playing catch.

I'm so sick of the hawks pansy a$$ style of play . Can you imagine what Kane and Toews would be able to do if they some big nasty guys on their team like Boston does ?
And Q's personal decisions are bizarre . How could Bickel not get any power play time . The LInes make no sense either .

- falcon44

Shhhhhhh.. Q is a master mind. He wrote the book on x's/o's..

The fact this idea sounds like a good idea is exhibit A why the damn coach who runs the PP needs to be shown the door asap.

Yep. 5 on 5 we skate around, on the PP we stand still. Not too hard to block shots and intercept passes when you never move.

And Amonte was Patrick Sharp with less consistency and ZERO defense. As much as people rip on Sharp's defensive play at times, Amonte never played a shift of defense.

Hoss is a tough (and proud) dude, if he felt he couldn't go you know he was in some pain, especially in the Finals.

Probably. Instead I'll call him (Marchand) one for going after Kane and trying to start with him earlier in the game. That rates as going to do anything.
pretty gutless as we all know Kaner isn't
Shaw and Marchand should be a fairly even scrap though like JJ said I don't think BM wanted any part of it and was hanging on.

- HawkintheD

Why would you call Marchand gutless for starting with Kane ? That's Marchand game , and everyone knows Kane is a wuss . When it get's rough he disappears. It's the Stanely Cup finals . This is big boy hockey , anything goes . The Hawks need to man up fast .

yeah while marchand was lying face up on the ice.

as said before by Dano if marchand is on top and pulls that you'd be all over him looking for a suspension.

- Fountain-San

Funny, Bickel was flat on the ice when Chara was mugging him. See much disparagement of him?

And that would be the most sensible, strategic things the hawks could do this entire series.

Phuck the coach: he's not going to change anything the rest of this season.

The players have to do it now: these are quality, talented skaters, they know what has to happen for them to score on a 5 on 4/3 - 88/19/81/10/2 - just go do it.

Stop standing around - move the puck, move the skates, do what you would do 5 on 5 as much as you can.

Q / Kompon are not going to fix it this year - players have to.

Refs are giving them the opportunities - 11 in 3 games, 5 last nite - hard to get past the Bruin defense and Rask even strength - need some PP help.

This is the first sentence of the article if you actually read it:
"Marion Hossa has been a relatively healthy NHL player. He has missed a game here and there over the years, but really the shoulder surgery in 2009 was responsible for his most time lost for any one injury (22 games)."

The other blurb mentioned by Scott Wheldon doesn't really help his case or yours that Hoss is a fragile player.

Other than shoulder surgery he was leveled by Torres and had to spend time in the quiet room. I'm not sure there are many if any current NHL'ers who would have escaped a similar experience after Torres launched himself at their head.

Sorry, but I believe the guy if he said he couldn't go. Don't know him personally but his body of work here has earned the benefit of the doubt from me and probably most Hawk fans.

This is why this guy is just a troll. He is here from day 1 throwing out 5 word comments/questions and inputs nothing.

All goes back to what I said weeks ago during the Detroit series - team is not really good enough down the middle of the ice.

Handzus can give you 10 minutes of reasonable play and downhill from there. Bolland has been just god awful and his untimely, silly penalties put further strain on a guy like Toews.

- RickJ

Yep...I thought Bolland would be better and like I said the key...

Handzus has been getting worse every game and there is no reason now for him to even dress.

...And Q. is coaching scared and players are not being put in the best position to succeed.

Outside of that everything is good.

Today's article...

Meh, I didn't read the article, don't care, don't think Hossa is soft.

Fountain was stating an opinion you all disagreed with. Non-story if you ask me.

- Dano819

He was manufacturing an opinion in order to evoke a response.

That is trolling.

Myself and others have been suggesting that for months...or just don't put 5 skaters out there. No need to take a penalty, just keep one guy on the bench, then have one jump on when there's a chance for an odd man break. Seems like a good idea to me.
