I have been very surprised with Crawford's play this postseason. I didn't think he had it in him to play at this level without the soft goals, but he has been excellent to this point.
- carcus

Yes, I give him credit - he's let in a few that you'd like to have back (shortie vs LA, etc.) but no meltdown goals like last year against Phx. He appears to have matured and I have no complaints with him as our starting goalie.

However, with the way the Hawks play has progressed (or regressed) versus Boston, it appears we may need Corey to earn a "goalie" win or two if the Hawks are going to hoist the Cup.

Ahhh. An attempt to moderate your posts - throw in something like this and you may not get banned later.

This was a fact. Rask saved the Bs Saturday. It also completely contradicts the trash you were posting most of the morning.

Obsess much? You're kind of a creep guy.

Puzzled as to why eitehr Patrick hasn't played up the middle, have someone take his draws but at least getting Kane off the boards may open up some space for him

The problem is that goalies can't score, so a shutout from Corey still requires....one goal....haha

And a mistake by the officiating system to wipe out the 2-0 goal in Game 2. Why have video review if it isn't used properly ?
- philco28

Even though we deserved to lose game two by the poor way we played, that goal should've counted and we should've won that game. Can't go back in time though.

Since we're on page 30+ of responses - I'm not going to see whether this was posted earlier - becasue its more of a catharsis for myself at this point - I am done with Dave Bolland (aka the Rat) until further notice.

Selfish, stupid penalities, careless defensive zone turnovers and horrible at the dot - just can't believe this is the same Dave Bolland that was such a factor in previous playoff years. I know injuries have taken their toll on the man - but its his poor decision-making that is really standing out as deficient. Very disappointing.

They all visited the local Boston Pampers store before game 3....Saad's play is very disappointing at this point. Too many dangles amounting to phuck all. He needs to park himself in front of the net and FIGHT FOR HIS RIGHT TO PARTY...won't happen though. He's too busy reading about being a Calder finalist. And he won't win.
- philco28

But they play well in the regular season ....

Thanks home slice.

Unfortunately for you, you still appear to be caught up in the past. While the present is happening before you, and you're to ambivalent to care.

- moondawg

I see the present fine. The Hawks have surprised many of us this year with SCF appearance. They have a truly young core and 1 of the top 5 prospect systems in hockey. In spite of the calls here for the FO and CS heads the future is obviously good.

Unless someone understands that size, grit and heart are equally as important as skill, the future doesn't include a Stanley Cup.

He came here with Lucic, do you want to bring Leddy and Kane with you to kick him out?

Hey Phil, wasn't able to see the game or hilites and I can't get YOUTUBE here. Who won the Shaw / Marchand scrap?
- paulr

MArchand tried to get Shaw's arm tied up with a half jersey pull but pretty much turtled while standing. Ended up with M flat on the ice and Shaw threw a punch down at him but the officials were there.

M had the chance to drop them right away and it would have been a real fight but he is obviously not going to do that.

I can't think of one forward or defernseman for Boston who plays small.

Not. One.

I can think of at least four on the Hawks: Kane, Saad, Stalberg, Leddy (sort of)

I am so tired of the ridiculous argument that you need skill players on the one hand AND muscle players on the other. No, you need a roster full of guys who combine both. Or skill and a lot of heart (see: Sharp, Kruger)

- John Jaeckel

In fact, that team concept the Bs have has actually made a guy like Krug play much tougher than he is. The Hawks probably do the opposite - Hammer and Seabs can play much more physically than they are. This stick and puck check garbage can get really old and is certainly no way to win a series like this.

Agreed.

Stalberg is really an enigma at this point. 6'3" - 209lbs and very, very fast. His size and speed would allow him to play an agressive checking style and allow him to get back into the play if he got behind. Really no physical excuse for him not to be an agressive forechecker/backchecker. We wouldn't be lamenting his stone hands so much if there was more aggression to his game. Also, there's no physical reason why Stalberg couldn't be an effective penalty killer - again, good size and speed.

Commitment and desire - seem to be lacking in some that possess the physical qualities to be much better players. A frustrating waste of talent.

- Chief4Feathers

Just silly to dwell on a player like Stalberg as if he is going to be a huge difference maker in this series. The team needs production from the players that are paid accordingly - Kane, Toews, Sharp, Keith, Hossa, Seabrook. (A goal like Bergeron scored last night). Without that, the team won't win.

There may be no physical reason he can't kill penalties, the problem with him is that defensive intelligence and an apparent incapability of clearing his own zone at any time is what keeps him in Q's bow-wow garage.

isn't the rule written that judgment calls are not reviewable?

that's what i'm saying.

- Fountain-San

Not sure what the rule is...allz is know is...for a play that was supposedly 'not reviewable'....they should sure as phuck spent a long time talking about it.

This Quenneville presser is embarrassing. Didn't skate Smith in the warmups to not tip his hand to the Bruins that Smith was likely to play...wow. Way to hide the fact Ben "Gretzky" Smith was in the lineup. If you're so worried about tipping your hand to the Bruins why declare 30 hours before Game 4 that Hossa is likely to play???

This has become a circus of sad proportions.

Plays bigger. Kruger, another example.

Plays smaller: Stalberg, Saad.

- John Jaeckel

Kruger is a warrior...fearless. He is still developing his game at this level, but I TRULY hope and believe he is part of the future in Chicago. In the least, he should center third line next year and send Bolland to a change of scenery.
