And a mistake by the officiating system to wipe out the 2-0 goal in Game 2. Why have video review if it isn't used properly ?
- philco28

Still scratching my head about that one. I'll take it but the Bruins got lucky on that one.
I really hope that isn't a huge deciding factor about the outcome of this series.

This could easily be 2-1 Chicago. It was nothing short of amazing that Rask was able to make all those save during the 1st period of game 2. All it takes is a mistake by the Bruins D and the Hawks are all over Rask.

It could also easily be 3-0 Boston.

If the struggling PP continues, any takers on Q suiting back up in the old Whalers sweater and getting out on the blueline for the Hawks?

True enough! The Bruin's have had some really good chances. Crawford is impressive.

I have been very surprised with Crawford's play this postseason. I didn't think he had it in him to play at this level without the soft goals, but he has been excellent to this point.

Oh yeah.. don't forget little Teevo Tarahideme is coming to the UC soon. Another little winger. Jesus. Trade him to the Panthers and grab that #2 pick if that really is the case. We need size everywhere. But maybe Teevo might have a tad more heart then 88 since he is what.. Finish/Swedish? When Shaw/Kruger/Frolik have the most fight that shows you how deep in schit we really are.
- z1990z

We all could see the gap. The team has surprised us all with their toughness but we really need 2-3 designated hitters/grinders.

Would love to see that trade.

Watching the Toews beatings and the lack of response from Stalberg last night says it all.

Targets - Hendricks, Martin, Clowe, Z Smith.... What a difference one of those guys would make in this series. Face offs, team toughness etc...

I've heard a few TSN/CBC guys say that he is a candidate for the CDN Olympic team.

Last night was....tough to watch.

The toughest part was that I actually really liked the first period the Hawks played (outside the PP).

Silver linings:

it's only 2-1 and this team has shown that you can never count them out.
Crawford has been good enough to win games 2 and 3, but he hasn't had much help.

Biggest concerns:

Health. Hossa is an absolutely irreplaceable loss, and I believe Toews is as well. Anyone else notice he's not shooting the same way or taking faceoffs the same way? I suspect a broken/fractured/sprained hand or something.

PP. The thing here is I don't care what formation you're using or who's coaching the unit; if they don't get control of the puck in the offensive zone, and if they can't win faceoffs, none of that matters. The PP last night was squarely on the players unable (unwilling?) to dump it in and retrive it.

Faceoffs. This has a MAJOR ripple effect throughout the game. They don't win faceoffs, which makes Chicago's PP worse and Boston's PK better, it gives Boston the puck more, thus giving Chicago the puck less, which results in more hits by the bigger Bruins, which results in a worn down back end...this facet of the game to me is the major reason Boston has the 2-1 lead in the series rather than Chicago.

Game 4 is do or die...but this team has surprised us all year with their efforts in must-win games. Gotta stay positive.

So why the long conference after if it wasn't reviewable ?

And, with all video equipment available, it should be reviewable

It's on hockeyfights.com

Wrestling match, Shaw fell on him and tried hit with him a left, but don't think it landed.

Very, very apt. We need some 190 pound guys that play 220, too much of the inverse.
- PhatJoeSki

I can't think of one forward or defernseman for Boston who plays small.

Not. One.

I can think of at least four on the Hawks: Kane, Saad, Stalberg, Leddy (sort of)

I am so tired of the ridiculous argument that you need skill players on the one hand AND muscle players on the other. No, you need a roster full of guys who combine both. Or skill and a lot of heart (see: Sharp, Kruger)

Just a friendly reminder - the average size and weight of both teams is nearly identical. What the Bruins have is Lucic - no other team has a winger that can do what he does when motivated. And of course Chara.

The Bruin forwards are playing a very hard on the puck kind of game and its working for them. No Pretty Boy Floyds on that team - by contrast the Hawks have a few too many.

THIS!

Sure, we need a power forward on this team - ala Bickell +. However, we really need current players, regardless of size, to play with more tenacity and willingness to get their nose bent if necessary. Shaw is a perfect example - 5'10'/180lbs - but all heart and grit. If players like Kane, Stalberg, et al. had his determination in their play - it would result in a much better team dynamic on the ice.

Plays bigger. Kruger, another example.

Plays smaller: Stalberg, Saad.

They all visited the local Boston Pampers store before game 3....Saad's play is very disappointing at this point. Too many dangles amounting to phuck all. He needs to park himself in front of the net and FIGHT FOR HIS RIGHT TO PARTY...won't happen though. He's too busy reading about being a Calder finalist. And he won't win.

Rask is as cool as they come. Doesn't hurt have a huge d corps collapsing in to close down angles either.

Weighs 205, plays 175. Same with Stalberg. Kane at least has the excuse that he is 175 to start with.

Kruger weighs 175, plays 205. Shaw weighs 180, plays 210.

He shouldn't either. Gallagher and Huberdeau were both consistently better with less help.

But to hang our failures on a 20-year-old is a bit unfair. Saad should not need to be a difference maker in this series.

Kane+Toews+Hossa+Sharp. Those are the guys that need to step up and take control this time of year.

You're really into anal play/rape huh? I think you discovered a new fact about yourself. I'm happy for you!

Disappointing. Really going to go with the "I know U R but what am I" defense....

If you can't bark with the big dogs don't lay on the porch. Consider a tatoo of that if your mommie will allow it. Actually though. I think the following is much more fitting.

Don't use the words "stuck" and "glove" in your handle if you are going to be vulgar a$$hat of a troll.
