All that being said building a Stanley Cup winner is a work in progress for the Hawks
Not quite there yet
A few pieces missing so Bowman's job to add the pieces going forward - PEIHawkFan
That has been his job for three years. Same gaping holes exist. No power forward for the top line and no legit 2C.
If the personnel needed don't come on a budget and require nothing of value to be exchanged, no change is coming. I will though give them props for improving the third D pairing.

It looks like Bickell is turning the corner and could be the physical forward the Hawks need.
The 2C role is still a big void though, I don't know how Stan is going to address that. My best guess is Pirri. |

You guys are alright. One or two of you are a little sensi but that's neither here nor there. It was easy to hate the Nucks for the way they played. Chicago is a solid team from great town. Also try Montreal fans sometime. They're the best. Just ask them they'll tell you. - glove_was_stuck
Actually, you post just like a Canuck fan.
Maybe you should start to get ready for your hostess duties? I'm sure your makeup and S and M costume take some time to get together. |

On a Hockey related Question..
Does the Hawks think if they keep shooting the puck at Rask stomach it will wind down so by game 5 they will have a huge hole for them to get the puck through? |

Could be right about Bickell - you know - if he gets played on the top line - where he has made a big impact.
Long term for 2C in the pipeline it's McNeill and LeBlahhhhhhh. I don't think Pirri has NHL chops. His game changes for the much worse when he plays against grown ups. |

Probs better than the UC - fattybeef
Not last night. Someone observed in the telecast it was the worse they had seen. Looked much worse than the UC. |

Bickell returned to regular season form last night. I never get why as he crosses the blue line with a clear line of site from teh goalie shoot it right at his chest. |

Really? The Nuck fans are pretty insane..and not in a good way. Really wish the Hawks were moving East too. - howiehandles
No way. I want the occasional pleasure of removing the Nucks from the POs. May be some time now that they have real competition in their division.

As stupid as some of these insults get, I'd still rather deal with the Bruins and their fans than most of the Nuck fans. Talk about #$@^&@& - howiehandles
Sounds like some of you guys need tissues.
I can't believe you guys are actually finding camaraderie with the Bruins fans, the team that you are engaged in the biggest battle of the NHL season.
And you guys are roasting marshmallows around the campfire with the Bruin fans singing kumbaya and sharing Nucks hate stories.
No offense, but its getting pretty soft in here. |

Crawford has been more than good enough to win. The rest of the team just stinks of late. How does a goalie steal a game for you when you can't even score one goal? - Q...argh
That was true last night. |

|
Admittedly late to the party and assume this has been asked, but if we are to believe Q and Toews' company line that Hossa wasn't hurt in warmups and it was known all day that he may not play, why the hell would Smith not skate the warmup??? This is turning into a fire drill from the top on down. |

He was the only guy to beat Rask last night. Post saved Rask. |

Everyone shoots high or right in the chest, start shooting of the phucking pads for rebounds. Shooting high is so selfish |

Best post in a month .....by a mile
WTF is right
It's 2-1 not 3-0
Pens just got swept
Bruins are very good
However they were dead in the water against the Leafs and only a once in 20 year miracle saved them...fact
Julien gets fired after that game without the miracle on ice but now he's a coaching genius WTf
Also had the disallowed goal been a goal Hawks are probably up 2-0...fact
Bruins score 5 on 3 and Bickell rings one of the post last night
Yes the PP sucks
The Pens scored 2 goals in 4 games
The Kings PP sucks everyone's PP sucks
As bad as the Hawks appear to be we lose Hossa in the warmup and they are pounding Toews every chance they get
It's called the playoffs
the Bruins are very good team but it can turn
Around in game 4 because winning and losing is a fine line. - PEIHawkFan
This is true.
Games 5 and 6 of the Wings' series, game 4 of the LA series were huge gut checks this team passed. Game 4 of this series is everything. The entire season really.
I will blog on this tomorrow. Jobs should be on the line.
Players should play like it, coaches should coach like it.
The "GM" needs to be ready to do his job—because his failure to produce a PP QB, faceoff wins and size upfront—after he traded a lot of it away (Byfuglien, Campbell, Ladd, etc) for "cap relief" is glaring.

Handzus was a Band-Aid deadline deal, now the wound is gushing...
Today's article...
Blackhawks can't solve the Bruins and are shutout 2-0 in Game 3 - My Fox Chicago: FOX 32 News: http://bit.ly/19fPk3Q
On Twitter@AlCimaglia - Al
I had and still have no problem with getting Handzus. But it was a "patch" on a blown tire. Perfect analogy, Al.
This front office can't make big trades (please no one bring up Nick Leddy—too long ago, a winning lottery ticket, the blind squirrel theory proven).

Try upper Wisconsin, Minnesota, or the U.P. Those are really bad. At least from my perspective. - howiehandles
True. Long Island is also a strong contender. |

Why should jobs be on the line? The Hawks are doing fine. The team appears to have maxed out on revenues by going so deep in the playoffs. Business trumps winning my friend. |

Smith has top 6 potential after a few full seasons, IMO. - Q...argh
Not seeing that. He is a role player. Could be a decent bottom 6 guy. Hope he gets his shot though. That Brendan Smith cheap elbow really set his career back. |

I forgot about LeBlanc, but I expect that both he and McNeill (and Danault) will play in Rockford next season. |

Getting Handzus was fine, but continuing to play him on the 2nd line when he's not effective is an issue. |
