Agreed. I'm not a statistician, but I've looked at the science a little, and sports stats that say "the team that does x goes on to do y 79% of the time" are generally meaningless, and usually a misuse of what statistics are good for.

I'm realistic, but not too worried yet, because it's ALL about winning ONE hockey game on Wednesday night. If the Hawks can do this, we're back to square one with home ice advantage. Given that almost everyone predicted a 7 game series, it was fairly safe to presume it would be 2-1 someone at some point.

It's not the 2-1 deficit so much as that Boston appears to be the better team (as JJ's title says). If they continue to be the better team then they will win the Cup, and deservedly so. The Hawks' weaknesses are well-known (2C, PP, FO, grit/ physicality), have been documented endlessly since the post-Cup year, and it's obvious that the Bruins style of play has been able to expose those weaknesses. But if the Hawks can summon the will to win Wednesday night, I still like our chances.

Hawk fans are some of the most rabid, loyal fans in all of sports. There was a 7-ish year period where Hawk fans finally threw up their arms and told WWW in their actions.. we are done being treated the way you have for decades. Outsides have ZERO clue as to that story and what was the impetus behind it.

He is already facing a lifetime of possible post-concussive issues, back and shoulder problems, pain, etc. It might just be in his own and his family's best interests for him to think hard during the off season about retiring. It would suck for us fans and for the organization if he did retire, but I could hardly fault his decision if he did.

If he retires this season, the Hawks have a $1,312,500 cap penalty through the 2021/21 season. That figure increases if he retires early in future years.

That said Q looks confused and unfocused in this series. Making lineup decisions that boggle the mind. I think he's trying, but I think he's trying too hard.

The Hawks for Game 4 need to go back to a simple, set lineup that was most prevalent in the season. Put good players together and let them play. Lose with what brought you. Return to a total dump and chase style of hockey. In the least that will prevent stupid neutral zone mistakes that are ending up on Crow's head...

Every single time they established a cycle, Boston got frustrated and took a penalty and at a minimum were 200ft away, tired and had to give the puck back to Chicago instead of counter attack. Those big lumbering guys are going to get exhausted if they have to chase the puck. Identical to the Detroit series so far with the exception of a blow out. It is a simple game, you throw the ball you catch the ball you hit the ball.
