But Chris need to be number 33. My Last name is Mason. My Lucky number is 33 because I was born March 3rd. Obviously my wifes name is Mason, and she was born 3/5... Steve Mason is already 35.

It would be too perfect. Like Flyers promotional perfect. Maybe they could replace the fat dancing guy with me and my wife....

They need a 3rd string goalie named Mason with a number in the 30s for the new "Three of a kind" goalie carousel.

Philosophically speaking can you prove it's not?

All we've heard is that a few of his teammates don't like him. So what! He's not the first player we've heard that about and won't be the last. If he had a 2.25 GAA and .920 SV%, I bet they'd like him more! And the players don't play for him. They play for the Flyers.
- MJL

It's a two way street. He has gone out of his way to be a distraction and not keep his mouth shut. He acted better this year around the media, but the second he gets out of the country he turns into a goof all over again. And he does play for the team, but by disrespecting the organization in the media he is disrespecting the players as well. Saying stuff like that just shows he doesn't care about the team, the players, or the fans. No wonder the other players don't like him. And if you don't think there is any value to having good chemistry in the locker room then you are misinformed.

That says WAY more about the players in front of him than it says about the goalie, and if this is even remotely true, the Flyers have MUCH bigger issues than we thought.
- MBFlyerfan

Exactly. Flyers management needs to find out who is leaking information to the media about the Flyers locker room, and deal with that.

That works both ways. It gets frustrating playing with a distraction. You would hope when they lace 'em up that all is forgotten.

My opinion is that the possible CBO's effect on Bryz has to be taken into account. Bryz knows he's on the way out. He has eyes and ears and a good brain, so he can obviously see his situation. I wouldn't want to play him knowing that he understands where he is on the team and how much longer his timespan will last. He'd honestly have to win the Vezina to stay. Knowing his personality (I can tell he likes to live a lavish lifestyle as evidenced by the showing of his humANgous big house and fancy stuff on 24/7), as well as his love for Philly media, it could be safely said that Bryz probably wouldn't be opposed to being bought out and collecting his ungodly paycheck. But would the looming buyout affect Bryz's game, whether because he wants it or is scared of it? Hopefully not, Bryz is a veteran and a professional; but it still could. I love Bryz, and unlike some, I enjoy his over-the-top personality and the comical relief he can bring to the game, but I also think Bryz's opinions of the buyout have to be taken into consideration when deciding whether more appropriate to use the CBO this offseason or next. If knowing he is going to be bought out 100% next coming offseason is going to effect his play this coming season, then I think we need to move on this offseason.

I will admit that maybe he's not keeping his mouth shut but I would say it's a little far fetched to say he is going out of his way to be a distraction. I would say it's a safer bet that the media goes out of their way to get quotes from Bryzgalov himself. He just has to do a better job of managing what he says.

He isn't going out of his way to be a distraction. He's just simply being who he is. That's his personality. He's quirky, and he has a hard time communicating what he really is trying to say. In my opinion you're making it into way more then it is. Players have to have chemistry and play well on the ice. They don't all have to like each other personally. And if you think that every locker room in the NHL is all buddy buddy with every player, and there aren't personalities that clash with each other, like there is with any group of people put together. Then you're misinformed.

Who says its not just the media making observations. The media does have lockerroom access pre and post game. If guys dont like someone, sometimes its obvious just by watching people over time.

In my opinion Bryzgalov's down fall is simple. The series HBO 24/7. Take that away, I'm sure he's still reading and watching discovery channel and sharing his thoughts of everything he learns with his teammates. That's how I took his quotes about the Tigers. There are numerous players who've said something out of line or out of context around the league. It happens all the time. It's just none of them were being followed around and aired in prime time.

The Media has access to interview players. If they know that one player isn't liked by players. It's because someone is telling them that in my opinion.

This is probably all moot if we can get Streit signed, but thought this would be an interesting play:

In same vein as Bernier; send that offer sheet to St Louis instead for Jake Allen. If they match, could have made it more difficult for StL to get both AP and Shattenkirk signed. But I imagine the price point at which an Allen offer sheet would put their RFA D-men in jeopardy would be too high to where if they did not match you'd end up over paying for him.

I think we all remember the Derek Morris and Adrian Aucoin comments before a big game. Love Bryz or hate him, I thought that was a little unprofessional by them. I don't think any of their comments gave them an edge and these 2 are both veterans players.

There are always personality conflicts anywhere you go and spend time with people. You don't have to love everyone you work with. You dont even have to like them. But if there someone on the work place everyone HATES it causes poor communication and relations, and will effect the working enviroment.

Its the same in the NHL, and teams DO make moves when something like this happens. I'm not saying that is the case in Bryz's situation. I have no proof. But look what is happening in Buffalo. They are going to move Miller more due to his clash on his team, then team need. It does happen.

Correct. Often, it's one or more of other players or one of the coaches talking off the record.

There is no proof that he's not liked by his teammates, and the fact is that, factually, I'm not going to say he's not liked by his teammates. There's no proof, and until someone shows me proof, I refuse to even allow the remote possibility that his teammates may not all love him.

I think each situation is different. Obviously, a player that is universally hated by every member of the team, there is some kind of serious issue with that player. A player that is unliked by a few players, not really a big deal in my opinion.

I would imagine the NHL work place mirrors real life. I go to work every day and deal with a couple of jack wagons. I don't like them or respect them and think they give the organization, as a whole, a black eye. Same thing with Bryz. He's a jack wagon. And I don't buy the "communication gap" bs. He certainly doesn't have that problem with the foreign press. He's almost a quote machine over there. His mouth is humangous beeg.

He was on the radar way before 24/7... who can forget the "why you heff to be mad" interview in response to Oilers fans hating on Pronger for wanting out... telling Russian newspapers that the Giguere was only still on the Ducks b/c "nobody wants him"... the infamous "No parks" interview when it was thought the 'Yotes might relocate to WPG... he's a loose cannon to put it mildly.
