From what I am hearing you can't wait to OS Bernier. The Flyers want to know who thier replacement for Bryz is before the Buy him out. You have to buy someone out before July 5th. You cant OS someone until after July 5th.

Anything that has to be done, will have to be done before then. Whether its tradeing for Bernier rights. Trading for Halak. Or trading for the rights to Emery, Nabakov, or whomever.

To me that makes Thomas a no, because you cant trade for his rights.

damn. if you were willing to make the 6th a 5th, they may force justin williams to come back

Okay. Giroux, Coburn, and a 5th for Bernier and Dustin Penner.

Is it confirmed that they want a replacement prior to buying out Bryz?

I think the threat of the Offer sheet is what we are currently using to bring down the price of Bernier. We can wait til the wire and Buyout Bryz and then Offer Sheet Bernier later should it come to that. With what went on with Weber last year, GM's should know Homer will do it too. But the offer sheet is just a scare tactic, as LA would be foolish to match it, and much smarter to realize their disadvantaged position and trade Bernier now to the highest bidder, whomever that is.

Fine. We'll throw in both Schenns and Voracek if the Kings will throw in a 4th.

this is where i think, as i said last night, homer COULD have an agreement reached with Lombardi already - it's just not in effect or official. don't know if that would be considered tampering.

Agreed. This is a life changing injury and I know Keith Primeau is just recently getting back to normal, and he got his in 2005.

Now, were somebody to have broken Sean Avery's knees....

Wow. The center piece of the great Gogo trade for a measly 29 goal scorer? You have yourself a deal sir.

i know, i know. speaking of which, i dont place any stock other than entertainment value in those twitter accounts, but i saw someone post something about the stars and flyers in talks revolving around gogo for coots. like jesus christ, i understand people just pull things out of thin air for the hell of it, but i mean really? are people even attempting to remain in the realm of plausibility any more?

not that i would have any problems with that deal in the slightest haha

Kypreos just tweeted that the Leafs and Flyers are front-runners for Bernier, and that a trade should happen "sooner than later".

In my opinion it won't get to that point. Bernier will be traded long before a team can sign him to an OS.

Seriously though, as awful as it sounds, I'd wish that to happen to Matt Cooke. He's the only guy in the league I would wish that on, but he's very seriously injured so many people during his career that he deserves to have some bad karma come back at him. I wouldn't even wish it on Sean Avery, because he's only extremely annoying, not so much dangerous.
