Absolutely. He was also very good in the tournament in the IHF Tournament were he was arguably one of the best d-men for Sweden who won Gold.

He has to be in the lineup this year.

We've only seen Dr. Jekyll thus far... it's been mostly Mr. Hyde since the 3rd month of his rookie campaign. I'm pulling for him as much as anyone, but they need a substantial safety net considering the track-record.

Agree 100%. Not sure who that is. I'm not in favor of trading Read for Bernier.

Too much being made of Grossman's injury. I would worry more about Meszaros' health or whether or not he can be moved? It's been a bumpy ride for him the past year and a half. I've heard zero about Coburn's shoulder, the health of Meszaros, Grossman or even Pronger himself. I would love to know how Pronger is feeling regardless if he ever plays again (Obviously he won't).

All are healing up just fine. Get ready for the draft. Camp should be fun this year.

I think it's a certainty he will be.

Lots of 1-0 wins this year. I'm interested in seeing what top 6 forward is brought in to replace Briere.
- PLindbergh31

It's addition by subtraction. He's been a non factor the past two seasons in the regular season.

Well with what happened to Pronger, I don't think you can ever minimize a concussion. Hopefully Grossmann is ready to go when camp starts.

As far as Mezaros goes, I have no faith in him staying healthy, and I would think he has very minimal trade value.

Mez has to go. Open it up for Gus. Even if we can get that 4th round pick back. Dump him

I've been down on Meszaros since after his first season as a Flyer. Even when healthy, I don't think he's played well for long stretches of time.

Hasn't been very good the last two years. He's injured a fair amount as well. As I said before, when he's not scoring he doesn't do anything else.

That being said, I like Briere. I think overall he was a very solid addition to the Flyers.

He's been very good at times, not so good at times. I think when he's healthy he's a solid guy. A shame he came to Philly and morphed into a chandelier.

Is there anything you feel optimistic about in regards to this team this year?... Just curious.

Mez could be a stud next year. Young defenseman (don't give up on him yet).

I agree. Cut your losses. Even if he rebounds and plays well this year, he's a UFA at seasons end, you can't risk re-inking a guy who doesn't play.

I wouldn't look to do that until the deadline.

Of course. Giroux, Hartnell, Read, both Schenn's, Couturier, Voracek.... That's 7.

And I'm a fan of the coach, I'm glad he's back.

If he's hurt at the deadline, then you are stuck with him the rest of the year and get nothing for him. The moment he's able to play in games, I would move him for anything.

If all they can get is a 6th round pick I'd rather they try to ride it out and see what happens. A lot of people thought Mark Howe was toast before he came here.

He has a Cup win, and a SCF appearance on his resume. Not to many guys with those credentials are on the unemployment line.

Who was out there that you would rather have?

Your right it might be hard to do with Gustafsson around. Kid is a beast. I think he has a legit shot at winning most improved player next year.

That's being serious. No joking.

Mike Keenan but seriously I'd like to go with some new blood like Dallas Eakins but I think he's taken now anyway
