It doesn't matter as long as he gets the job done
- NYI44

Would you like Letang on the island? The price would be Grabner or M.Martin and Okposo

As mentioned before Dupuis could still be a very productive 3rd line player if need be towards the end of his deal. His sample size as an NHL player has shown durability to be one of his assets. He has missed 28 games since the 2006-2007 season. Only 2 games in the last 4 years.
- Ryan_Wilson

I completely get that but giving him that fourth year you are sitting hoping that the cap goes up and a 3.25 mil hit is average for a third liner. On top I that Father Time catches up to everyone and yes he's a very good player but 4 years is a long time and a lot of games.

Dupuis skates like he's 30yo. The guy is a workhorse and is always fit.

I would love Letang. Definitely don't want to give up Matt Martin. I wish we can get him if he becomes a UFA, but I guess I would give up Okposo or Grabner, I think it's worth it when you look at all the prospects

And then sign him to a long term deal

Flyer Fan...

What's the chances of Bryz and Briere being bought out ? If Bryz does, does Homer take any heat from management ?

- Pairo11

The chances are almost 100% that Briere is bought out. Bryz has a better than 50% chance of being bought out. That would rise to 100% if they acquire a Bernier or something similar. Holmgren will undoubtedly take heat for signing Bryz but he was basically ordered at gunpoint to "Fix the goalie situation". More patience with Bob and a serviceable backup would obviously have been the way to go.

Give us 2 out of 3 of those guys and a deal is iminent we need to fill out some roster spots with speed and youth. I personally would accept M.Martin and Okposo. I like Grabner too.

Dupuis is probably the most non-sexy 1st line player in the entire league...but gets the job done AND more. He better stay! He'll get a job in the organization after his carreer is over without a doubt as someone already said.
- Orpik44

Id be more than happy to have him and billy developing the young talent the pens get. They are/were the perfect guys to have on a team.

There is no hoping, it is going to go up. Revenues this season were outpacing last year's and that was even with the lockout that was supposed to turn fans away.

Stanley Cup Final is getting its best ratings since 1997 and there will be more HRR with the additional outdoor games played.

There is 0 percent chance that the cap does not make its way back to 70M or more by the time Dupuis is in his 3rd year of that deal.

I think Briere's situation is very much relevant to the Penguins. He could definitely become an option depending on what happens. My guess is that he would come cheaper than normal because of the excess buyout money he would be receiving.

I was so happy when they traded bob I mean how old was he when the trade happened 22. The team with constant goalie issues trades a young promising goalie that always beat the pens and he goes on to win the vezna.

I think that's what is great about both of them billy won't a cup as a 4th liner with the devils he knows what it's like in the top 6 and bottom 6 and dupuis is just a renascence man on the ice he an play any line at any time and kill penalties and its not bad to have young guys that are well rounded very valuable.

If that was the case, I'd rather have Grabner/Okposo.

How about Hamonic/Okposo for Letang?

I think the going rate for Letang will be a 1st round pick, a NHL ready defenseman, and a forward prospect. May go even higher if teams get into a bidding war.

Bryz getting bought out would REALLY compound the whole Bob winning the Vezina thing.. There is no worse scenario that could play out for Homer - big ticket signing for HUGE long term $$ comes in while the forgotten guy gets moved and goes on to win the Vezina..

Ouch x 3 !

I don't know how many points Dupuis got while playing without Crosby but I'd say his average with or without Crosby is pretty close. The SOB seems to score in every situation

Gunner, do you actually have a PPG/AVG for Dupuis with or without Crosby?

- Orpik44

I'm bored at work so I'm going to start working on that now. Not sure what will happen first, me getting through all of it, or the Pens resigning Dupuis

I can see you're protecting M.Martin and Hamonic at all costs I'd love to get one of them on a deal.
