So in the last 7 full periods the Blackhawks have scored 2 goals. I bring this up because it reminds me a lot of the Penguins/Bruins series. So it is a failure to score by the high skill teams, or is it something that the Bruins are doing right?

Morning!

I knew the Blackhawks would have a lot of trouble scoring against the Bruins. Boston's "team defense" is so good. They stick to their game plan and don't get shattered if they are scored against. Patience. Good coaching and the right pieces on the ice. I don't think by any means Pittsburgh was horrible. They just didn't execute and didn't crash the net enough. We can skate with them any time.

Wow buddy... You're sounding more hilarious by the minute... I'll agree if you said Nabokov... But Lu... Omg... I've been a huge Fleury backer but he is the worst... It's laughable... Amazing physical tools, terrible mindset...

As for bringing up Lu's stats since the cup, his team has played like crap and has been thrown into the blender while being on the bench... Can't just take his low moments...

I'm guessing no one here actually watches full games with him in season and follows the team.

It's hard to believe that when Schneider, playing in front of the same team, has posted a 1.96 and a 2.11 GAA the last 2 seasons. Like i said before, Lu WAS a great goalie, but nothing in the past 2 seasons has shown he still is.

Pray?

Seriously, there isn't a goalie out there I would be interested in unless its someone like Hiller (on the trade blocks) or Miller (would come cheaper as far as a trade). I don't think Smith is the play. We have seen the movie before from afar of Phoenix goalie leaving the nest. I DON'T want anything to do with Bernier. To me, he isn't battle tested enough ... I see a Lindback situation without question.

Fleury is good enough to get you a decent seed in the regular season. Not that I want to, but I'd play him and Vokoun say 55-35 and then have Vokoun be the goalie in the play-offs. I have little faith in the flower during the play-offs. With that going on, you have to prepare Hartzell to be at least a backup for 2014-15. Release or don't resign Theissen and get him ready in the AHL. If Hartzell flops like Theissen, we are in trouble. We don't have a long term solution.

Luongo is a better than average goalie - nothing more nothing less. He isn't an elite goalie anymore. He is at best in the right situation a Tier 3 goalie.

You're forgeting about Jeff Zatkoff who's outplayed Thiessen and got a chance for a game in the NHL as a backup, just like Hartzell.

I would love to see a goalie change. Don't you think the re-signing of Bylsma is enough? Do we have to see Fleury flop once again in the playoffs?

Miller would be awesome, Hiller would be very good and Halak a capable replacement. I do like Smith but would rather have the three I mentioned before.

Zatkoff doesn't project as a starter or a good backup in the NHL IMO.

The Islanders offered 3 years @ $4.6M per to Mark Streit. His agent asks for $5.5M. The Islanders say see ya!

The Flyers give 4 years @ $5.25M per. Done deal! What a shaft! Dumb GM...

He was considered the best AHL goalie this years (I think). He never got a try in net. It would be cool to see him play for a bit.

Late to this party, but when it comes to guys like Dupuis, the first reaction should be: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". If he's comfortable, and your stud is comfortable playing with him, don't change anything if you don't have to.

However, if he's looking for a deal to break the bank (doesn't sound like he is though). I'm always of the opinion that when it comes to players like Dupuis, you can make other options work if you absolutely have to. If he's looking for a $1-2 million pay raise he's probably worth it for chemistry's sake alone. Anything more than that, seek other options. If someone like Crosby's production goes down because of a guy like Dupuis leaving, then your team has bigger issues that needs to be addressed.

I think the Hawks board is nothing more than a cut and paste of this board after our game 4 loss.

B's are just snuffing the life out of them. Hawks stars are all being called on the carpet......hmm......wonder where I heard that before? The venom for Toews is brutal.

One things for sure, the B's slapping of the Pens was not a mirage.

That said, a Pens-Hawks series would be very exciting, by the way both teams play.

I'm calling Boston in 6 games.

People like seeing offense, not defense in the Cup finals IMO. Yes, the Chicago v. Pittsburgh match-up would have drawn heavy ratings. Too bad it didn't happen.

Again, take this with a grain of salt, as i don't know the validity of this guy, but:

@ThePensInsider - If #Shero desides he must move #Letang, the #Avalanche will consider moving the #1 overall pick this yr 2 #Pens in a multi-asset trade

@ThePensInsider - Despite tantalizing top prospect defenseman Seth Jones being from Colorado, the #Avs need an impact D now & #Roy wants 2 make a splash #Pens

@ThePensInsider - If such a deal is made, expect more parts to be involved, 2. Regardless, if #Shero moves #Letang, he will act quickly, like w/#Stall #Pens

Seems a little far-fetched.

If this happens, Pittsburgh may just become the league's most hated franchise. With Crosby already being considered by many conspiracy theorists as the NHL's version of Patrick Ewing, this would cause many people to blow a gasket.

It wouldnt be like they would be getting it for nothing. Give up a top 5 defenseman in the NHL in his prime is a lot.

I'm not taking anything away from the B's, but I hate "paint dry" hockey. They get up a goal and it's trap city. It's been a masterful performance, but it's not going to do very much to sell the game.

Pens/Hawks.... Yeah, that would have been fun. Sort of like when the we missed out on Pens/Avs.....although, Florida hacked, grabbed, tackled their way to the finals. The B's are doing this within the rules.

Well...if that's the case, I'd draft MacKinnon anyway. He's the best player in this draft and would be Sid's wing for a long long time. We could bring a couple other d-man in separate deals.

The year Ewing was drafted was the first year the NBA instituted a draft lottery. A lot of people think it was rigged to get the Knicks the 1st overall pick.

Our fault. We could have made it happen. The Leafs blew it badly. Can you believe most of their fans are saying they would be in the finals for sure if they had beaten the Bruins?.....bitter fans #angrybunch
