Let Bozak hit the open market and realize that teams aren't lining up to pay a 3rd line center 5+ million a year... And if they are, good luck with that. I wouldn't mind Weiss in Toronto because he's from the area and wants to play here.. But it has to be at the right price.. Maintaining cap flexibility is paramount. Grabovski needs to be bought out or traded for that reason as well.

Colborne needs an honest opportunity to sink or swim. He's battled through injuries, but I believe he's a late bloomer that's being overlooked, and perhaps his time is near or now. Unless their is a bonafide center upgrade (which their isn't....possibly Stastny) then I say we get rid of Grabo or Bozak (pref Grabo), and start season with Bozak/Kadri/Colborne/McClement. Spend money on a top 4 D, and Clarkson. Don't disrupt the chemestry or growth of this group too much IMO

Komisarek, Colborne, and a prospect/pick

For Dipietro, and Strome.

That would make me soooo happy.

So we need to rid ourselves of a guy playing considerably less/g, while matching up against the other teams top offensive unit..... but Weiss makes a lot of sense??

Grabo scores more goals plays less mins/game, but more mins against tougher opposition. but yeah lets dump him because he's too expensive and lets get a guys that isn't much better statistically, but plays more mins and will command a similar cap hit to the guy you are trying to dump??

The best case scenario IMO is still Stastny if they trade him, which I think they will. He would line up good against Kreicji scince Bos will be a factor for years to come.

Weiss is at most a 5% upgrade over Bozak, and he'll be $5.5M per minimum to sign.

At this point id take Weiss over filppula because Weiss would likely take a better cap hit. Probably 4 million to play in his hope town. Weiss was such an integral part.of the panthers considering he was the only offensively talented player on the team. I've watched a fair bit of the panthers over
the years and he was the guy taking all the major defensive face offs and responsible for creating the momentum for the team.

He's no all star. But coming to Toronto would have a huge personal affect on him. And who knows? Maybe that'd convince Clarkson to pursue that goal. Maybe he will have an offensive break out year. He's a quality guy to have. Soft? Sure but he plays a better game than bozak. You could argue he'd be the cheaper alternative to grabs making less money providing better zone management. Its something to consider at least when you look at the free agent market and projected prices.
