8-2 in their last ten tho... might of just taken this long to gel.

it wasnt that long ago they were 15 back or something around there

I fear they are the Dodgers of the East. High paid, lots of promise, team is poop, and no chemistry.

5.5 back of a wild card, Reyes should be back soon. Second best record in baseball since May 11, won 5 in a row. Swept Texas at home something thats never happened before

Do we always have to look or search for the bright side as a Toronto fan?

I think its safe to say that the start the Jays had was the absolute worst that could happen. No pitching and no hitting. things are starting to even out as they do in a long season like Baseball.

are they winning the world series..no.. playoffs, long shot now. Once the trades were made I set myself up for a 3 year window to see some playoffs. I havent abandoned ship yet.

Again, as a Toronto fan, we have to find something to cheer for.

Other than Richardey they have looked pretty good as of late.

Here, take a look. All the pitchers who have thrown in the last 7. Other than Richardey they look pretty good.

Kulemin is skilled too, doesn't always translate into consistency, goals, and a top 6 role.
- ThePresident

EXACTLY..... and that's why he's untradeable IMO. Does all the little things right and is hard on the puck and can knock a guy like Chara off of his skates... that screams KEEPER!

I remember one year the Cleveland Indians started out a little slow - new team, lots of new faces.

But they managed to put it together and ended up winning the pennant in a one-game playoff.

Lot of character guys on that team. Fastball relief pitcher, veteran catcher, a centre fielder who could really fly...

For some perspective

Texas started off 32-17 and was in first most of the season has gone 6-14 (.300) which is worse than the Jays start of 10-21 (.322).

Also the Jays are 1-7 this season vs the Yankees, which they dont play again until late August. Also the Yankees are starting to come back down after a strong start..they will fade off also I imagine.

tis the thing about baseball.. its one long ass season. 8 or 9 games at this point? not really all that insurmountable.

if it was just a matter of the guys getting a feel for each other then these jays might make a season of it yet

You guys are too optimistic for me. How many periods of overtime tonight, in the hockey game?

Not a huge fan of Domi, but he had one bad tourny and now is totally ineffective? He's far from it.

Back to the blog
Now if comes to down to signing Bozak or Weiss......you sign Weiss.

- Fakepartofme

That's what I said? I said he was ineffective in that tourney, no mention of it making him ineffective overall.

But that both withstanding i think he overrated Nd most likely gone before 21 anyways.

Really, people?

More on the Cleveland team:

- they had a vet third baseman. Start of the season, he refused to get his uniform dirty. But after a talk with the vet catcher, he started pulling his weight.

- their ace was an ancient junkball pitcher. But he got the job done.

- they had a great power hitter, but he had trouble with breaking balls.

They also have an extra wildcard compared to back then. I know it’s unlikely they actually make the comeback, and they’d have to have an incredible record from here to end of season, but they’re 5.5 games back right now I believe, on that last wildcard spot. That’s not really impossible to catch in half a season.

really long shot...maybe 92 wins to be sure, last season it was 93, year before 91

so going 60-34 the rest of the way (.638) to be 92-70

thats some good baseball they have to play..a 103 win season pace

5.5 games with 94 games to go?

not really all that impossible at all
