plus if my memory serves me, adam Larsson was drafted as an OFFENSIVE defenseman. in 102 games played over 1 1/2 season he was a whole 2 goals and 22 assists. plus if urbom,merrill,gelians,etc. are NHL caliber defenseman moving Larsson for a top 6 forward is exactly what the devils need. Now I have a question why do you love Larsson so much, everybody seems to want to trade a young defenseman why not Larsson?

He was drafted as all-around defenseman. He was being used in a shutdown role in the SEL behind Erixon and Rundblad who were used in more offensive roles. He just had that offensive ability that wasn't being used. He still does, he was never supposed to be a great offensive guy, just a solid puck-mover with a good outlet pass and the capabilities to put up some points.

the thing I love about devfan30 is that not once has he ever shown any stats proving his statements besides the fact that they are his thoughts not one fact proving Larsson is even half as bad as he thinks he is

his playoff goal was a pretty big moment in the game and series

and its his two way game he isn't and wasn't thought of as a player like karlsson

Whos wants to trade young defensemen? The only team I can thing of is Buffalo with Myers. And if everybody does want to trade a young defensman, means we must get in on the action and trade ours? Plus, theirs no point in having Larsson as an offensive defensemen if he can't play D, for example Mike Green years ago, than you would have to switch him to forward and than we would have Teddy 2.0, no offense to him. And what if Larrsson doesn't become a top 6 forward, you're saying it like he would be. Also, he would have to change his game again to become a forward, and if that doesn't work than people will complain that he sucks as a forward. Lou and the coaching staff were trying to get him to focus his game defensively first and than work on his offense second.

Now you can tell me about how defenseman develop slowly and he's only 20 years old,etc. after 2 seasons of watching him play he is good at one thing, he takes the puck out of the back of the net better than any other devils defenseman.

We keep having idiots coming to our threads expecting that we want to dangle larsson because Devfan30 goes into their threads and does his schtick about how he hates Larsson

At the very least we should see what the roster will look like for next season. If we lose too much scoring we will be in trouble, but just losing Clarkson won't kill us.

I appreciate opposition and criticism, though. I faced criticism for doubting Zidlicky and Tallinder. I'll just let Larsson's play prove devsfan30 wrong. If he has 25-40 points next season and is a +10-+15 first or second pairing role, will that silence the one or two critics?

During his 102 games he's a .23 ppg player. He's the highest scoring Dman taking in the 2011 draft up to this point.
