I actually liked the re-make. Jason was way more aggressive and not all stiff like frankenstein monster (with an axe). Plus some pretty good nudity. |

It was basically a 90 minute supernatural episode... |

Somewhat, sure. But if 5 teams were interested are they less interested now? - Jeropotato
They might still be interested but at a discounted price than before he said that |

I would take either, BPA is the way to go at #7. - Jeropotato

I feel that the only player that would make a difference at #7 is Monahan. Lindholm is too much of the same that we have, and Nurse is just another prospect on defense. Monahan will probably be gone by then though because Calgary sucks.
Realistically, I don't think that the price tag is too much to move up 2 spots, yet the long term effect would be substantial. |

I wouldn't give up more than a 2nd, but yeah,Nish or Barkov seem like the real deal. I would have Barkov play another year in Europe or maybe AHL though. Being a winger,I don't mind if Nish makes the team at camp. |

I think Barkov is definitely NHL ready now, but that's my own opinion.
As for value, while I do agree that it is fair value to give them a second round pick, word is that Carolina is looking for a way to get better now. My guess is they're looking for a roster player.
Considering the risk they took on Semin, I don't think it's too far fetched that maybe Hemsky could be offered, assuming we swallowed half his salary.
I don't know about you but I believe a player of Hemsky's caliber at 2.5 million dollars is a bargain. |

Oh (frank) yeah. If we didn't have 2 similar, but younger (and clearly better) RW's in Yak and Ebs,I would have no problem keeping him. |

Nurse may be another prospect on defense but he's an elite prospect that is better than any of the ones we currently have in our system. He would also make it possible to use one of the guys we've drafted already in a trade package for the big winger we need. Too much defensive depth isn't a bad thing. |

Really? Is he ahead of Klefbom and Marincin? I will garauntee that Mrincin plays a minimum of 40 NHL games next season. |

Of course Klefbom is also an elite prospect on the back end; I've heard of people suggesting Klefbom being in the top 5 in defensive prospects already drafted. Schultz is elite talent, I know that sounds homerish, but normal defensemen don't get 27 points in their first 48 NHL games. He could very well become the next Karrlson. |

Oh yeah, Schultz will be a legit #1 I think, but he needs a Seabrook type as a partner. Maybe that will be Klef eventually, maybe Nurse,or maybe we go after that guy in free agency or by trade one of these summers. As for this draft, I would be okay with the BPA,regardless of position. |

I feel that if we stay at the #7 spot, we'll get either Monahan or Lindholm. I just don't see us picking Nurse under any circumstances. |

I agree. And not as though Lindholm is a Hobbit, either. He wont be that beastly Center everyone is talking about, but a solid 6'0, 200lb'er is big enough.
A year from now there will a poopload of good D available in free agency as well. Even an older guy for a few years would help provide a gap for Marincin and Klefbom to develope, and provide depth once they do.
Look at these outstanding talents!
Dion Phaneuf,Jay Bouwmeester,Nik Hjarlmarsson,Brooks Orpik,Danny Syvret,Dennis Seidenberg,Kris Letang,Andrei Markov,Dan Boyle...sure,most will be extended before then,but if the team shows improvement we could interest one of them. |

I think with one year left, Hemsky will go with his current contract. There are not many decent forwards on the market and guys are going to be over paid. I think as more players extend before the draft, Hemsky's one year won't look so bad. Especially to a team that wants to improve now.
I think moving up would help the team most. If we can get a rookie that can fill one of our bottom 6 spots, we have one less position to worry about. Signing a Dman that doesn't play seems pointless with where the team is at. There is talk of Edmonton showing interest in Horvat who is ranked in the top 10 with some scouts. |
