I watched the replay of the last play, and if anyone can tell me WTF Seabrook was thinking on that last play, I'd appreciate it. Frolik was approaching the blue line. He had a Bruin on him, but there was room along the board. Even if it gets past him, there's little chance for an icing. If you don't have support, go behind the net and wait for the cavalry. I just don't get it.

I didn't get a lot of their plays in games 1 and 2. Boston is so calm in their end. Chicago? Not so much. The bruin D do a great job of pinching, though. They are always on our forward and usually win the battle.

Sorry for hacking out most of your post.

Have you been watching this team the last five years? In that time, they have played maybe a dozen game where they gave a solid, 60 minute effort. They are talented enough to get away with it against lesser teams. It then turns into a bad habit that bites them in the a$$ against quality competition.

everytime we get into a scoring slump, then we start going back to playing from below the goal line, we start winning again.

>Toews has 1 playoff goal -- with the playoffs rules, his routine has been figured out and completely stopped -- so yeah leave him below the goal line and his goal total will stay at 1
>The Hawks pass up tons of open looks in search of a "better shot"
>They won game 1 because they shot the puck from everywhere all the time -- the Bs had 40 blocks and yet the Hawks still had 63 shots on goal (I was there.)
>I believe the Hawks had something like 8 shots on goal for all of period 2 and 3 tonight -- that's not gonna get it done

There goes the Cup...this team is absolutely screwed!
They have no chance of winning 1 if the next two in Boston

so you must be a former d man. it is always easier in the stands!! no seriously. are the hawks messing up. that tends to be the case when we dont win. when we win that doesnt happen.

i just get frustrated because i was one of the first people to buy season hawk tix. because the first time me and my dad saw toews and kane work a power play, we said these guys are the best we have seen. and we were right.

I think kruger and frolik have been the hawks most consistent forwards both games, but Shaw and Bolland were amazing in game 1 but bad today. What scares me, though, is boston's 1st line outplayed our star players both games. Toews, Kane, and hossa have to step up in Boston or we come back down 3-1
- tomcat24

Hawks top line(s) have not been good, except for first period pressure tonite, but while Lucic certainly had a lot of big hits, that line only had 2 SOG tonite.

CC hasn't given up a "softie" since the Detroit series. As they say, it's a fast game and the other guys want to win too.

It's easy to complain from your sofa. If you're lookin' for perfection, better stop watching hockey because you will always be disappointed.

Without CC the Hawks are down 2, or better yet not even in the finals.

- ArlingtonRob

Given up a pure "softie". No. Given up bad goals at the wrong time. Yes, that's his trademark.

Q decided, without a failure, that what worked all year for the Hawks, could not possibly work vs Detroit or Boston....It is pure comedy how so many refuse to connect the dots.

There is no good reason that Stalberg isn't playing. They could really use his speed right now.

There's no joy in losing. None. Just insomnia.

I'd rather miss the playoffs completely than come this far and lose.

- Ogilthorpe2

Ahhh, the Dan Bernstein theory of sports.

You can't mean that - you'd give up the comeback against Detroit, the Kane hat trick and OT winner against LA, the 3 OT win last Wednesday, Crawford's excellent play....

I've a question for ya...

What goalie, who's not currently playing because they gave up too many friggin' goals, would you want instead of CC?

Lundqvist?
Kipper?
Quick?
Emery?

You'd be complaining just as loudly is my guess. And don't mention Niemi because his number sucked in 2010 compared to CC now. Sure he stole a game in SJ, but the Hawks also scored...ALOT...in 2010.

Oh..and I wish I were CC's agent because he'll be getting a raise from someone when his next deal is completed.

- ArlingtonRob

I imagine that with our defense and any one if those four goalies in net we'd would be darn near unbeatable. With the exception of Emery, none of them had the hawk D keeping shots on goal low and scoring opportunities even lower. Emery, bad hip and all has almost the same numbers as Crawford.

He can play goalie, which is why he us in the NHL. He's just not that good and he's benefitting from a phenomenal defense on front of him. Heck Boston scored on him by their 6th shot on goal for gods sake.

Even if you consider the game winner tonite a bad Crawford give-up - and I think he could have (maybe should have) gotten it - that's the first at a critical time in quite a while.

His trademark probably, but ths year, not so much.
