He was, but StaHlberg is just as capable (maybe more so) of turning that puck over as Bollig is.

9 out of 5 times stalberg clears that puck, bollig has no clue what the (frank) he is doing out there, get a damn clue,

Too bad him and his teammates couldn't figure this out BEFORE that game ended.

Toews himself was not good tonight and THAT was disappointing. Love the kid, but on all three of their PP's, he lost the opening face-off in the offensive zone and the Hawks spent most of the rest of those PP's trying to get back into the offensive zone. He was a non factor offensively as well. Look, I know he gives everything he has, so I'm not upset by his effort and I know he does a lot of the little things, but one goal in 19 playoff games is not getting it done. This game was not on just him though. Several other of our better players were silent tonight (Hossa, Kane, Bickell) The Hawks won the first game based on the strength of their third line. Boston shut that line down tonight and the big guns couldn't compensate.
- RetiredGoalie

Exactly, well said, one goal will not win a game very often. Let Kane and Hossa pick 4 guys to play with on each power play unit and let them lay out the formula. My gosh, like a lot of things in hockey these days, total overcoaching. Let the creators create.

Except I'm right, so there's that.
- Ogilthorpe2

hahaha....

Yeah, Kruger and Frolik did their thing, just as they always do. Hossa battled, Sharp battled, Keith battled... Hammer had another sub-par night (that no look pass/turnover into the center of the ice was atrocious).

Seabrook isn't right. I have no idea whether it concussion-related or some other condition or injury, but he's not right.

Good series so far. Nobody was going to win this series in 4. It'll likely go the distance.
- TimBits

If the Hawks can win in Boston...I don't think they can.

But will be thrilled to be proven wrong.

Probably concussed. He took at least 2 cross checks to the back of the head tonight. No call.

More to say tomorrow morning but....The better team won and not going to win games at this level with about 8 shots over two periods.

I'll take Ben Smith. I know he'll battle and not pleasure skate and chirp at his coach.
- philco28

I would love to see Smith but he might be really rusty. But he is definitely a battler which you need against a team who constantly cross checks and holds and hits

For those looking for a change in the lineup in Game 3...

From Q's post game comments there won't be a single change, unless an injury surfaces.

Sac up? I'm trying not to doubt them, because every time I do it seems they prove me wrong, but my gut tells me Steamrolled is more likely. Hope I'm wrong.

Really, here we go, lets turn the page on all the 25 obsession from 2 years ago. Stalberg has played solid and consistent in the playoffs like all year. Projecting anything else is just intellectual dishonesty. If people want to say he is not a Q guy and its Q's call...that is honesty. Trying to say, based upon his performance that he was hurting his team is just message board legend.

Q decided to eff with Stalberg and make changes vs Detroit, That is his call. But anyone here suggesting that Vic was a liability in the minn series is high. Same can be said of series vs Detroit once he came back and LA series, which....get this.....WE WON!

But hey, lets do what the Pens did, try to out Bruin the bruins and forget who we are....genius.

Again, no slight to Bollig.

Last time we left after a home split, we came home trailing 3-1. Hope Q puts on a black tie in Boston and not a magenta or pus sy baby blue tie.

Hawks have to get the windshield and not the bug, at least a lot more than they were in G2.

I was really disappointed in the lack of hitting by the Hawks tonight. I know that's not their game but in game 1 they set the tone early with hits by Seabs , Bollig and Shaw. Tonight they reverted back to form. If the d-men were looking over their shoulders tonight think what will happen when they play in Boston on their home ice. The ineptness of the power play makes thing s worse. If I'm Julian I'm telling them to hit the Hawks every chance you get and if you cross the line and they get a power play no big deal they won't score anyway.
- jhawk159

The Hawks set the tone early with speed and relentless puck pursuit, but it only produced a 1-0 lead.

Then it vanished and so did the Hawks. Credit to the Bruins, they deserved the win.

It would be a risk...but fresh legs would be welcome. Vik's been pretty much a NON FACTOR when he's been in there.
