Karma TG?? Really? Karma? I thought we were debating tangibles not some middle eastern mythical state of mind.

There is some validity to your point, but this is not boxing. Conversely, tell me one adjustment Detroit, LA or Boston has done to prepare for the Hawks? then I too will drop it.

They did nothing but focus on playing their game with their best horses. With all the risks that go with that.

- TrueGrit

LA and Detroit lost so let's let that go shall we.

Boston didn't make changes to the line-up because ... THEY HAVE A PLAYOFF LINEUP ... WE DON'T!!!!

OK I'm outta here.

Hopefully the Hawks get their magical mystical tour back on track in Boston. If they do they'll have to hit ... sure hope that doesn't upset their ... karma Night TG

Is that really the best you have, Bollig hamstrung this team last night?

Did Bollig make Hjalmarsson panic in his own end?

Make Saad give up on pucks from the middle of the second period on? Make Kane go one on three most of the night?

Make Seabrook a bonehead? Make the Hawks get destroyed in the dot?

No.

- John Jaeckel

What do you figure DID make Seabrook a bonehead? The guy has been flat out awful in games 1 and 2. I'm feeling pretty sorry for DK having to play with him right now. I love Seabs but not this current version of Seabs.

While watching him flail away again at the UC last night, I mentioned the possibility of the Hawks buying him out. I know it won't happen but if he keeps playing like this at a $6MM cap hit . . . Yikes.

Why on Earth would they buy him out? Even with a limited NTC, they could get value for him.

Damien C O C K is hilarious. I used to live around the corner from this TWAT in Hamilton and lemme tell...he thinks his crud is made in perfume shops.

All he has is...things between the front office and bench "are said to be frayed."

THAT IS PHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKING DEEP. WOW. What reporting.

- philco28

Its comical at this point. Q just looks like the mad scientist. Continually messing with the lines when this team won the pres trophy. I give up trying to figure him out. B's lost game 1. Yet wow.. Julien came back with the same line up outside of injuries. Imagine Babcock with this team. Guys, this team wins for the most part based on pure talent. When it comes to x/o's for playoff matchups Q tends to fail. Prior to the Wild series, lines get mixed. The he does it again for the Wings series. Then after game friggin 1 of the Cup Final he is at it again. Im taking nothing away from Boston for they are a great team, but for the love of god Q let the dust settle will ya. This constant yank around of lines does nothing for chemistry. Q is simply a mental case. Seabs is back to 2 am last call on the ice with no accountability. And wtf if up with #4. Hes been a rock and now he looks scared. I swear teams laugh at Q. Bet if the Bruins changed the team meal from 2 to 3 pm, Q would re do his lines to counter it.. My god.... Q is lost. Don't expect the obvious line up. For whatever starts the game tomorrow will be changed 4 mins into the game.

Is anyone else wondering why in OT the Hawks only sent 1 man in for a soft forcheck and just played a trap? They pressure teams all the time but for some reason Q has them playing passive and trapping in OT and we all saw how that turned out. In the first period they had non stop pressure on Boston and that worked out great but then in OT they sit back and let them break out and get pucks deep.
- bhawks86

The problem is that this team can not sustain pressure for 60 minutes like the Bruins can. The Hawks play at their best when the D pinch and become involved in the offense.......as is aggressive offensive hockey. When they sit in that trap and allow the Bruins to gain the line and the zone, they're in trouble. Last night's first period showed everybody how this team needs to play for 60 minutes, not 20 or 30. If they sit back tomorrow night, they will get blown out. They need a total balls to the wall offensive assault to set their pace and put the Bruins on their heels.

So when have bruins sustained pressure over 60 mins? Again, respect the opponent, but I am not on board with the hyperbole.

Damian Cox of the Toronto Star is saying what JJ has said for ages. The Hawk front office and coaching staff are on different pages.

JJ has been saying that all year and it's totally evident with this Viktor Stalberg thing. I'm sure everybody realizes that Stalberg was Stan Bow's first acquisition as GM. Versteed for Stalberg. Probably much more of this inside politics than we even know about. My question is............. if Quenneville blows this, will he be back next year ?????????????

Whether it gets him fired or not, I don't know. But Quenneville has already been set up to take the blame—look at how many here continually ram home the President's Trophy. I guarantee you that's what Stanley will do and then "we underachieved in the playoffs."

As though the regular season and the playoffs are necessarily the same thing.

The NHL is like a closed shop and those that come in from the outside aren't readily accepted. The results have been there in Chicago and some probably don't like it very much.

The irony is that there are 28 other teams that would love to have the problems the Bruins and hawks have.

Don't know if Q will be back or not, obviously, but at worst, the Hawks made the SCFinals: why does someone have to take the blame for that? It would be extremely difficult, I would think, for Stan/Scottie/McD to throw Q under the bus for not beating the Bruins.

Making the finals cannot be considered an underachievement, no matter how disappointed the fan base might be.

After two gruelling overtime games (over 10 periods) with travel and only one day off heading into game 3, I believe the Hawks could gain an edge by using their depth. Handzus is tiring, becoming ineffective. Bollig doesn't make a difference. Bring in some fresh legs, balance out your lines and go into Boston and play a fast, north south road game. Forget about matchups let the Bruins worry about that. The Hawks were the best road team this year because they rolled 4 lines with speed in all three zones. The Bruins have ran a shorter bench than the Hawks in the last two gameset and they have played hard minutes. The Leafs proved that a fast north south game can wear the Bruins down. The Bruins are a structured team that plays in 5 man units, you have to spread them out like we did in the first last night.

Saad Shaw Stalberg

I agree and don't forget Stalberg actually threw a few big big hits against LA

He or any one player is nt the answer but I still like the group who got us here
So play them
