He proactively made changes because he knew what they had been successful with all season and in prior series, which by the way worked, could not work now, without 1 minute of evidence.
BTW, show me what adjustments Boston made? Q goes line juggler in advance of game one in anticipation of Boston doing this or that with d pairs and lines. Bos laughs and just plays their line up. Comedy. Funny how Krejci and Bergeron are not crying in the media about all the tough ice and matchups. This is so overblown and over coached, and like in the first game, led to 2 too many men penalties. Look for some qoutes and evidence of Kings matchup strategy last year.
At some point you understand who you are and you get behind that idea and roll with it. Would take Sutter all day over Q. - TrueGrit
He proactively made changes because history and experience told him that a pure speed, skill game has not, does not and will never beat a mix of skill and grit. Show me one, just one team, that won the Cupwith a team that has no physical defencemen and one somewhat physical forward and one pint sized very physical forward. You can't do it becuase it has never been done.
Maybe the Hawks can find a way to win it all but if they don't start hitting the Bruins it will be over very quickly. |

It woyld be really really pgucking cool to win games 3/4 in Boston and have a chance to win the Stanley Cup at home Saturday night. Just think one week from now we could be partying our balls off celebrating the Hawks 2nd cup in 4 years .... This team is that good. |

LMAO. This is delusion. You better hope the Bruins aren't coming back to Chicago with a chance to clinch. THEY are THAT good. Have you not watched the Bruins play? Speed nearly on par with the Hawks, one line the Hawks have ZERO answer for, a 2nd line Jullian has stumbled on that may be trouble, defensemen who not only don't wilt when they get hit, they actually LIKE IT. and a stud goalie to back all that up.
The arrogance of many Hawks fans is ridiculous considering how worthy the opponent is.
My goal and hope is to grab 1 in Boston...make it a best of 3 and see what happens. But talk of wrapping up Boston in five is utterly absurd. |

I still think this series goes 7, horrid as the Hawks played last night after 1 and as low on confidence as I am in the defensive core to hold up.

Or Boston could be celebrating........
I would be thrilled if they get a split in Boston preferably game 3 so we don't have to sweat a game 4 down 2-1 |

I predict Boston takes 3, the Hawks take 4 and then who the hell knows.
I hope the Seguin/Kelly line doesn't sparkle like it did last night...between that line and the Lucic line with the Bergeron line shutting down our top line things look bleak from that end. Toss in a defensive core that looks battered and beaten and you have to wonder.
When M. Rosival is the player giving you the most confidence when the pucks is on his blade, you know things are off. Hammer, Seabrook and Leddy played like misfits last night, they were an abomination. Those 3 HAVE to be better or this series is toast. |

FACT: The Hawks won game one when they were hitting.
FACT: Chicago lost game two when they tried to play a finesse hit free game.

1 in Boston is what we need. Agreed. Again... 2 OT games. Two pretty even teams. We have strengths and weaknesses as do they. |

He doesn't know. It's called blind faith. Folks focused on Bollig can't admit our team got worked...can't admit that 'stars' have been useless or worse (Seabrook). They REALLY believe Chicago is superior to Boston, just as big and tough and the ONLY reason the Hawks are not running away with this thing is because Brandon Bollig played 8 minutes of hockey last night (if that). They are living in a bubble of delusion that blinds them from the real reality that COULD be creeping in...as this series goes longer Boston will bring even more tenacity and toughness. It's NOT gonna get any easier and putting the wide skating, fly by, hands of stone Stalberg out there won't make Boston blink for a moment.
The PROBLEM with the Hawks is they got NINE shots on goal in 50 minutes of hockey. That isn't Brandon Bollig, that's a team getting pounded in all facets of the game by a superior (at least on that night) opponent. - kwolf68
Brilliant! 100% true, and that simple. It's not more complicated then this. |

He was, but StaHlberg is just as capable (maybe more so) of turning that puck over as Bollig is. - Ogilthorpe2
Yeah but Stalberg actually is an offense of threat. There is no reason they should have Bollig out there instead of Stalberg. Every player has turnovers so you cant use Stalberg turns the pucks over as a legit reason to not play him. |

Boston's weakness are tougher to expose and now they may have found a 2nd scoring line when Jullian put Seguin in with Kelly. I fear we're gonna see Seguin blossom as a playoff performer. He is skating balls out in this series and has talent and character by the bucketload.
We already know the Lucic line is too much for the Hawks to handle...if the Bs get two capable scoring lines, then WHAT is their weakness?
I hope like hell the 2-OT periods were just an aberration and not the matchup coming into more focus. Monday can't come soon enough (and I hate Mondays). |

I have been a huge Brent Seabrook fan for a long time, but his play should be held under very strong scrutiny.
He was so bad last night if it came out today that he was point shaving I'd believe you. Utterly so bad I would not shed a tear if he was traded. Totally useless, worthless performance, no heart, no fight in a Cup Finals game.
He needs to be undressed, not a freaking 4th line grinder. If Seabs isn't gonna use his size and strength anymore then he isn't needed. We have plenty of soft playing defenders and some of them can actually skate.
#7 = worst player in pro hockey last night, but lets keep the Stalberg narrative going. |

After two gruelling overtime games (over 10 periods) with travel and only one day off heading into game 3, I believe the Hawks could gain an edge by using their depth. Handzus is tiring, becoming ineffective. Bollig doesn't make a difference. Bring in some fresh legs, balance out your lines and go into Boston and play a fast, north south road game. Forget about matchups let the Bruins worry about that. The Hawks were the best road team this year because they rolled 4 lines with speed in all three zones. The Bruins have ran a shorter bench than the Hawks in the last two games and they have played hard minutes. The Leafs proved that a fast north south game can wear the Bruins down. The Bruins are a structured team that plays in 5 man units, you have to spread them out like we did in the first last night.
