My most honest answer would have to be that I don't want to move it. Giving up that kind of a talent you could get with either Jones or Mckinnon would just be too difficult for me to justify.
Even if I said I would ask for an extreme overpayment of both of your firsts and Myers, I still am not sure if I could.
Realistically I think the only way it would happen would be if you could get the #2 or #3 overall and add something to that. - Meeqsb
Would the 8th and 16th get you the 4th or 3rd??
And then say the 4th, Ennis, Myers, Grigorenko for the 1st and Stastny? |

Does it really have to be that complicated of a deal? I feel like Buf only wants to trade for 1. - benny948
COL still wants to pick high. If we want #1, we're gonna need a top 5 to give to them as well. |

I have a feeling Bobrovsky wouldn't sign a contract until the awards were announced. I think he wanted to use it as leverage to get more money. The KHL thing is another way of doing so. But I think he hasn't signed either place yet because of the Awards. I think that might be one of the most interesting stories of the offseason. - HonkFortheGoose
It will
If the Blue Jackets go the cheap route, he will leave for the KHL IMO |

We will see how Jankowski pans out. He is definitely a project. Do you think that the Flames are going to go off the board again with number 6? - benny948
Not a chance. What we aren't sure on is if we take Lindholm or Monohan. Pretty equal in both camps which way we go. The later picks, who knows, I see them trading 1 for 2 seconds. |

Not sure why you guys are piling on Feaster, not that I agree with everything he does, but he inherited a mess from the real culprit, D Sutter. His trades have been underwhelming, but their drafting has been actually good. We have some awesome goalie prospects coming up & Ramo is basically signed. We'll see what he's got next year. We do have 3 young very good players stepping up in Brodie/Backlund/Baerschte. If you missed last WJC, 2 players looked pretty good in Gaudreau & Wotherspoon. I cant stand this talk of trading our 3 1st rounders for 1. That's just nuts. We need to trade the few active roster players that have value & try to get another top 10 pick. Then in a few years, Flames will be ranked in the top 10 in hockey futures. Since Feaster has been drafting for us, we have moved from 30th a few years ago to 20th. As for Jankowski, let it go, he was the youngest kid drafted last year & probably would be a 1st rounder this year, look at other teams who went off the board in the top 10 last year, Anaheim could have gotten their guy in the late 1st round. If teams like their guy, take him, when you are picking 21st or 22nd, you're rolling the dice anyway. Our teams are very similar but I agree you guys are way further ahead in your rebuild, so what, both teams will be relevant in 2 years. - Kevin R
Jankowski is for sure a gamble , but it seems like no one ever mentions grabbing Sieloff with the 2nd round pick also included in the deal. He is looking to be a solid prospect. So yes Jankowski is a risk but having Sieloff there too takes some of that away. I'm iffy on Feaster too but I don't think this was a bad deal, he's certainly done worse.
As far as trading the 3 firsts I'm with you I'd prefer to keep them as well.

Hall's already a ppg player. Give him 2 years and he's a top 10 player in the league. What a stupid comment. You must know more than every hockey analyst in the world. |

Would you guys possibly go w Nurse?
After trading Phaneuf and now Bouwmeester, I'd think u guys would want to bring in another top-end talent on defense?
According to "hockeysfuture" it looks like all your decent prospects are at center and wing and are lacking on defense...

The avs said no to Calgary's offer because 2 of their firsts are in the 20's with one being 28 which don't have nearly as much value as people think and isn't even close to enough to to leave the top 3.
Plus Colorado HATE's Calgary.
Avs may say they don't want to wait for a rebuild, however that doesn't mean they are going to try and rush anything foolishly (like trading for Miller. Great goalie, too old.)
Also Stastny is a good player and his contract is not a problem for the Avs at all, he has a good amount of value, if he didn't he would have been on the leafs a very long time ago.
All of that plus you get a solid young goalie and Varly. Lmao you crazy - Meeqsb
Did u know the average age for a goalie in his prime is 33?
