Remind me again. How old is Brodeur . Miller is just coming into his prime for a goaltender ! - Maximum Signal
I find it so strange, if Miller is so great and coming into the prime of his career, why do you want to offload him so badly. So you are saying you have better playoff potential with Enroth instead. Why not trade Enroth if Miller is still a superstar goalie |

trade 5, 8, 14 for 2... Mackinnon
trade 7, 11, 16, 19 for 3.... Drouin
- JAT27
I'd rather have all the depth that we'd pick up in the draft
Remember,
We make these trades and we are likely gonna pick in the top3 for the next two years...
We can get out "superstars" then |

Hey DDM what do you think your avs are going to do with #1? I think we are def in talks for it as rumors are floating around but I think to get it Myers will have to be involved as a part of a packaged deal. |

I think Miller fetches you a Halak type deal. Goalies typically do not get big return packages. My guess is a top-mid level prospect, a mid-bottom level prospect, and a 2nd rounder for him |

Bc it doesn't make sense to keep him (even though he is great!) bc the rest of our team isn't ready to realistically compete for a cup...
Same reason to trade Vanek
We have the youngest team in the league already
We trade these guys for multiple young assets an let them grow into a contender together
No sense in pretending we have a legit shot like Calgary has done the past few years...
Look where it got them
It's just delaying the inevitable |

They will hold onto the first and draft Jones. They dont want to fall out of the top 3, Roy has already been on record saying this, I can see them maybe dropping down to 5th if they get a ridiculous over payment type of package, |

Well, either way, it would be exciting. Mack and Drou, or all those prospects.. talk about a rebuild. |

I don't know, I think for us to get something done with the avs for #1 they'll want Myers that's my opinion. I see Darcy moving up but to 4 is what I think. |

Very true
The reason I think we should build our depth with THIS draft is bc it is so deep
And we gotta be honest with ourselves...
We trade Miller & Vanek and we are gonna suck, badly
There's very good prospects coming out in the next two drafts as well
But they won't be as deep
We have a unique chance to really lay a solid foundation now
All good teams have superstars,
The ones that consistently have a shot at the cup are the one with good depth IMO |

You're probably right. I don't see any team that is a Ryan Miller away. His real value is he could help sell tickets in an American market that needs help. |

It would have to be a ridiculous over payment to have them part with it to lose out on Mac and Jones. You would probably have to obtain the 4th of 5th overall, and then use that, Myers, Gringo, and probably another 1st next season to get it. Such an over payment that the Avs would be stupid to turn down that package. ANything less they will happy drafting one of those 2 and have a star for the next 10-15 years |

Believe it or not I don't want Barkov, I'd love to see Drouin slide to us there if TB takes Nichushkin at 3 |

If the coyotes move to Seattle, the new owners could make a splash and trade for a big name American goalie to help them win a few games in their new barn. I can see them letting smith go to UFA and trading for Miller if they finally get an ownership group |

What are your thoughts on rejecting 1 for 6/22/28?
What does Calgary need to get to have that trade accepted? |

I think that the Avs did the right thing, way too much uncertainty with the 22nd and 28th pick, would be basically proposing 6th overall and 2 mid level prospects for the 1st overall. Doesnt add up in my opinion.
I think end of the day the Avs want a gross over payement of a top 5 pick this season, 2 stud prospects or young roster players, and another 1st rounder either in this draft or next years.
I bet they Flames would have to add in Horak and Baertschi as well as the 1sts just based on the O'Reilly mess |

Because it has been decided a rebuild is needed . He can bring you back pieces necessary in a rebuild . And he is coming into his prime as far as modern goaltenders go. |

Yeah, if that trade happened, then the Avs would be well positioned for the next 10 yrs. I was thinking if they got Carolina's 5, and then, packaged 6 and 5 and 22 for 1, that might work. Understand the bad blood though- Feaster f'd himself. Otherwise, it was actually a half-decent proposal.
I was happy it didn't happen. And I don't see the Avs trading with Calgary as long as Feaster is there. |

The 5th and 6th overall is a pretty tempting offer, they would have to think very long and hard over that one. Thats exactly it too, if they trade the 1st overall, they have to know they are getting a package that is setting up the franchise with core players for the next 10 years. If not they will keep that 1st overall and draft a player that will be a core player . |
