Gallagher ahead of Yak.
Alright, maybe I should have said big market bias. Saad has one more point than Yak now (through the season and playoffs) in 16 more games. How he's had the better year is beyond me - TheNugeIsHuge
It's not all about points though. I agree Saad shouldn't have been in the top 3. And Brodin should have been top 2. And about yak you can use the he played with poop players but he had some great players playing in front of him. Huby had no one really in front of him our top line was hurt almost the whole year. And Huby didn't have good line mates all year.
So there are points to be made for all it was a great year for rookies and one of the hardest pick. |

Again, first time since 1951 that the leader in points doesn't get picked top 3. I think it should have gone Brodin, Yak, Huberdeau. Not being top 3 is ridiculous - TheNugeIsHuge
gallagher was more consistant than all 3 of those players. I do think yak should have been top 3 tho.
just a side q, who do you think will have a better career, galchenyuk or yaks? |

That's a good question if I had to pick one I would go with Galchenyuk but both will be great. |

not sure. Probably pretty close. Galchenyuk is very fun to watch. He didn't have a great season possession wise, but he'll be a stud for years to come. |

you complaining about biases is kinda silly. why wasnt therrien nominated for a jack adams? just the way it goes sometimes. media types watch 1000% more hockey than you and I and judge based on more factors. yaks wasnt consistant all year more so than what ovi was in the beginningof the season. I agree that I think it was the wrong choice to have ovi win the hart but when he turned it on the caps went from what 12th to a playoff team. yaks ddidn't have the same impact as the othrr rookies. nore did, one of my favs, the nuge vs landy. |

what effect did gallagher or saad have if they produced less? yes Landy led his team to the promised land last year |

habs dnt finish 2nd. Gallagher was a pest in front of the net. competed every game and didn't stand down to anyone, even charra. the kid was an absolute treat to watch. as was yaks in spurts. that said I'm sure you know of my displeasure during the season of krueger. yaks point totals and his consistancy could have been more positive im sure if he would have been coached better. |

yak wasn't inconsistent, he was just sent down the lineup for long periods when the puck just wouldn't go in for him |

Wish I knew. I want him to stay one of the best panthers all time, heart and soul of this team. Big reason why we did so poorly this year. |

Its a shame to see the Hart go to OV.... Would have been really nice to see tavares getthe Hart. He led his team to just 2 points less than the capitals in in the regular season in a division that is way tougher than the garbage southeast.
Also he did it with a team whose payroll is somehing like 22 million less than the team OV plays on.
Oh and can we just change the name of the norris trophy to "best offensive defensemen" now? |

Kessel had a better season than Tavares. Tavares had too much hype. Anyways glad Ovie won. 3 MVP's to Crosby's 1!!! And I know he has a ring. But he can thank Malkin for that who was their MVP in the playoffs. If you are measuring players based on PERSONAL achievements then MVP's matter. Winning a stanley cup is done as a team, not by one player. Ring arguments are always funny. Datsyuk has 2 rings how come none of you say he is better than Crosby? Oh it only matters when Ovie wins right? Haha best player in the game OVIE. |

Yakupov got hot in the final week of the season. Hubeardeau and Gallagher were much more consistent. And it's a shame Brodin wasn't nominated. |

Galchenyuk is better. - Smurfs-A-Joke
in what way?
goals? points? ppg? sht%? ppp? nope.
all in only a minute more of ice time per game on a much worse team.
but yeah, alex did have a better plus/minus and we all know that's always such a telling stat. I see your point now. galchenyuk is better for sure
ill wager if the oil took galchenyuk first, you'd be sayin yakupov is the better player |

Ovi is the most valuable player in the league? 20 games in people were asking if this guy was relavant anymore, he doesn't bring his best in big games, he pouts, he only plays a one hundred foot game and I don't think he's the best player on his own team. Scoring doesn't make him the MVP, being the best player in the league does and he isn't the best player in the league ... not even close. |
