Newsflash Bozak is a 3rd line center playing on the top line with Kessel. Weiss is a 2nd line center that has good playmaking skills unlike Bozak. Weiss is a way better fit than Bozak. Would you have Weiss at 5 mil plus or Bozak? Exactly.

Yes. People get fooled and think Bozak is a top 6 forward because he plays on the first line. Stats show Kessel plays better when he isn't playing with him. 3rd line center that can kill penalties and chip in offensively once in a while. Weiss has a 30 goal season just 2 years ago I believe...

But the fact that Connoly ended up with the Marlies may say more about Burke's long shot fall back plan after B Richards signed with the Rags. UFA season seems to have more misses than hits in recent history.

some one just did a stat check on Bolland. 3.75M for him... and he's not an upgrade. Weiss is smaller than Bozak and had decent stats but he was feature on those Florida clubs. Go to the other end of the spectrum salary wise... Stastny... 6M+ for a guy who's had better status historically, but clearly same problems.

Slightly undersized for what the fan base would "like".

Offer Bozak 4M for 4 or 5. If he signs, then work to clear out Grabovski or Liles or both and there's plenty of CAP room for one larger signing (Clarkson, Clowe, etc) and one smaller signing (Gordon).

Don't overpay Gunnnarson and Franson.
