psych. nobody's even interviewing that dinosaur. whoever gets him will get him because they missed out on the other candidates like AV and eakins. - rangerdanger94
It's funny because canuck fans were calling for his head and were ecstatic when he was canned. Now he is a sought after commodity. |

That doesn't make him a bad Coach, just kinda played out in Van. I wouldn't say he is any worse a coach than Ruff or Torts. |

Moreso than Lindy - Buffalo--Sabres
Different situation though. Canucks have underachieved 2 playoffs in a row, + Ruff was much more beloved for many more years in Buffalo. You would know more than I,but wasn't the Ruff fireing more about organizational change than underachieving? |

Ok, but is he better than Grigorenko + everything it would take to move up to #1 and get him?

What are you basing this off of???
Hartnell was on the downswing of his career, flyer fans were calling for his head and he played with Giroux and now he's a solid winger in the league.
Go back to your hole troll
Nobody has any (frank)ing clue what Giroux would do with NYI talent
You're acting like Moulson and Grabner are bad
Idiot - FLYERSROCK!
Look at the islanders roster an look at Phillys giroux has more talent on his line and spread out throughout the forward roster. opposing teams only have to focus on shutting JT down, there's way more offensive players to worry about on Philly I would take JT everyday of the week

I think he's at least 2 levels better. Giving up Miller to me is no issue. He's not coming back after this year anyway. I don't value Pysyk the way some on here do. I would make that trade. What if the Avs gave us Statsny too? They would probably want to dump his salary to take on Miller's. Would you do Miller, Grigs, Pysyk and the #8 for Statsny and the #1?

AV brought a lot of success to you guys. a couple presidents trophy, 1 win away from the SCF, some conference final berths, and he won coach of the year a couple seasons ago. i think he's a really really good coach but it was just time for him to leave vancouver. same with torts in NY. torts is an elite coach and one of the best in the game but he just wasn't getting it done so it was time for a change. |

avs aren't just gonna throw in stasny as a salary dump haha. he's gonna cost you a king's ransom on his own. |

I hate Stastny, ESP at his cap hit...
And he only has one year left also, so he's as likely to leave as Miller and Vanek are
Obviously, you think MacKinnon will be better than I do,
And I think Grigorenko will bet better than you do,
So it'll prob be hard for us to find common ground here
I'd do Grigorenko + 8, but I doubt that would be enough
I absolutely LOVE all the talent in the 1st round of this draft
So I wanna see us trade Miller & Vanek for more 1sts,
And not just to move up
If we are gonna move up,
I want it to be for Barkov
I actually think he'll be better than MacKinnon... Or at least close enough that'll be a better move bc we won't have to give up nearly as much to get him
But I'm VERY high on Barkov,
So I could def see if u don't agree with me there either |

I like Barkov's size and talent level. His speed concerns me. I think Nichuskin could be better than MacKinnon and Barkov but the KHL spector is worrisome for a pick that high. |

Let Toronto overpay for his overhyped mediocre play at an awful salary!

Drouin is elite talent, but the Sabres have been lacking quality up the middle so long I think we all want to see a stud center here. |

Hahaha...
Don't get me wrong,
All the guys in the top5 will likely be excellent players
But for what I think Barkov will be, vs what it'll cost to move up to 4or5 to get him, I think that's a better way to go
Bc even moving just 1or2 spots higher to 3 or better will just cost so much more IMO |

I actually REALLY like what we've done at center
Hodgson
Ennis
Grigorenko
Girgensons
Larsson
All of them could be #2 centers, or better!
Prob not any "Superstars" there...
But I think that's a heck of a group
And we may be able to add Lindholm or Monahan to that group without even moving up!
That works for me really well
(ps, I also LOVE Larsson though) |

I don't think Ennis and Girgs are NHL centers. I know Ennis had that hot 25 games or so 2 years ago but he didn't impress me there this year. by the end of the season he was back on the wing and they were trying Foligno on the dot. |

I don't think its worth it to move up...I mean, think about it...is MacKinnon really THAT much better than Grigs? Grigs was supposed to be like the no. 2 pick all year...lets give him a chance to not play 5 minutes a game with career 4th liners |

Ya, Nichuskin is def a wildcard
I was hoping he'd fall to us at 16, but with news tht he got out of his KHL contract, no chance that happens...
Possible he's there at 8 though
Barkov's skating isn't as bad as ppl make it seem
I've read A LOT on him, and it's just that that isn't in "elite" status like his other skillsets are... It's still above average, but when you're trying to find something he could improve on, that's really it
And the kid is still 17
He's gonna be a monster in this league |

There was an assumption that Lindy would be sought after. Who knows maybe Lindy is being picky about potential jobs. |

Someone insinuated yesterday that Lindy could end up our GM and Darcy would move up elsewhere in the organization. |
