No way that happens, Skinner is twice as good as Boyle and Mcbain is better then Staal. I do see marc staal joining the carolina hurricstaals when hes a UFA.

Skinner is the best player obviously, but not by much over Staal. And Boyle and McBain are pretty even.

Carolina obviously wants Staal, and Skinner could replace Richards if/when hes bought out. Plus if the Canes draft Nischukin they have the Staals, him, Victor Rask, Semin and Ruutu for the top 6

yea but i think that the fact that carolina wants all the staal brothers so much will help raise his value to equal skinner's.

That's not a fair deal for hurricanes, they give up both better players. Staal is good, but id rather have mcabins potential. Boyle is a grinder, skinner is a first line forward. How would you feel about that trade if you were a carolina fan?

dude you're seriously underestimating marc staal. has mcbain ever been an allstar? i mean, yea as a replacement for the rookie thing but i mean as a legit NHL allstar. because staal was at an age younger than what mcbain is now.

and mcbain is already 25 and only plays 18 mins a game on a team with a pretty weak defense. staal is 26 plays 22-25 mins a game on one of the best defenses in the league. not to mention staal had more points (11) than mcbain (8) had in 19 less games this season.

Why give up skinner and mcbain to get him? Hes a UFA next year right? Why not just get him in free agency rather then waste 2 great players to get him a year early. The jordan staal trade was a joke, they gave up 8th sutter dumolin to get jordan staal a year early.

Ik as a rangers fan you want a big return, im looking at it in a Carolina point of view. No rule says a brother cant ask a brother if he would sign in Carolina. Just wait 1 year and get him for free.

as for staal walking, nobody knows if he really wants to walk. he might want to join his brothers, but he might not. he loves competing against them and he started a family here in NY and his wife loves it apparently. it's a big possibility but we'll see.

even if he does hit FA though, it's not a guarantee that he will join carolina if a real contender like chicago or pitt offers him a lucrative contract. thats why carolina paid so much for jordan, because they wanted to lock him up before he got offers from 20+ other NHL teams.

Paille is a great role player, but he was being asked to do much more for us. He fits great in Boston because they have such a deep team.

Besides trading Vanek and Miller...
Ehrhoff could fetch a 1st, we already turned down a 1st for Ott, and we could take on a bad contract or two that could get us additional 1sts
Two 2nds can even be packaged to move up into the late 1st

We have a lot of options to acquire more 1sts IMO
I think we should do as much as possible to get as many as we can

We build our depth with this deep draft
Then we stink for the next two years an likely draft in the top3... That's when we get our "superstars"

I dont even consider trading Ehrhoff. Too good of a contract and closest to a #1 we have.

But Vanek, Miller and Stafford could all get you a 1. I see 2 of 3 being moved and at least 1-2 more 1sts coming. Although Stafford would have to be packaged for a 1st (ex: Staff and 38 to CBJ for 19)

I personally would not but many Buffalonians would, Myers had an off year because he was lazy during the lockout and consistently had to workout on his conditioning during the season rather then working on his skills. Myers still has the potential to be a #1 defenseman.

Ott is a hardworking great leader who I think should be captain. He is the perfect guy for the young kids to look up to during a rebuild.

I would love 7th overall, but other then those guys and prospects, i'd be open to trading almost anything.

The only non- prospects I wouldnt want to give up are: Myers, Weber, Ott, Ehrhoff. Eveyone one else im open to moving.
