I think the only way we get both is if we move up from 16 to 6/7.
Convince Calgary they need a goalie: (more likely one of our good prospects than miller) Hackett, enroth, makarov, ullmark. then add a 52 or 38 along with a prosspect or two such as cattenacci larson or adam.

Personally I think we pay a lot less than people think because its not that high of a pick and its still calgary.

To get the 7th from edmonton I really think they would like vanek. they have a ton of use and could use a veteran scorer to push them over the edge.

All we need to get Lindholm at 8 is for someone take Nurse
I'd put our odds of that happening at 50/50 bc I could see Carolina, Calgary & Edmonton all interested
Maybe Calgary or Edmonton even like Horvat better?

Doubtful Ristolainen falls to 16, but also possible bc guys like Zadorov & Pullock could be picked ahead of him
And the forward talent is so good, some of these defensemen will likely drop, like last year when forwards dropped bc of all the defensive talent

Nope . Vanek is awesome but we have enough talent. We need grit and Defence. 7+ a prospect for Myers? Like it or not, thats what the Oil is looking for.

True, I guess if they don't want to trade down they won't but I would definitely trade larsson if it meant getting lindholm.
I would be happy at those other spots you mentioned though because there will still be good players. I know a lot of people like shinkaruk and personally I think domi is being underrated.

- jc-13

I like domi IF we have 3-4 first rounders and Other guys are gone, he could be very good but i personally dont wanna see a team of small players again.

Sure, Vanek>Hemmer, no doubt, but who is the Kane guy on the Preds you speak of?
- Jeropotato

I meant the preds would like him, but i was talking about the Jets. They pushed hard for vanek at the deadline but darcy held out. So Evander Kane. I think it would take 13th+ a prospect for Vanek.

It would take a large + to get in the top 3 with just the #16.

I think the most likely trade spots are Nashville (4), Carolina (5), Edmonton (7), NJ (9) they would love to pick up 16 and get Fucale and it would probably only cost 16 and a second, phili (11), phoenix (12) if smith doesn't resign miller would love to play out west, Jets (13), Islanders (15). Many of these teams want the same guy. I believe Vanek and Miller will be moved on June 29th or 30th.
- Djtyczy

I dont see Nashville as a possibility. Carolina could be, but depends 1. how bad they want Nischukin, 2. If Tampa takes him and Drouin falls to 5.

Edmonton could happen, especially if you dangle someone like Sekera.

NJ, to me anyway, is the best option. They have to forfeit next years 1st, so I use 1 of our 3 2014 2nd round picks as a carrot

something like 16, 52 and a 2014 2nd for 9 and a 4th next year

I dont think anyone would be against MacKinnon, but im still very much against trading up to 1.

id rather try and get to 4 or 5 by using an extra 2nd or player and keeping 16.

My dream scenario is a trade or 2 before the draft to try and go into the draft with 3-4 1sts.

But im more then ok coming away with great picks @ 8 and 16

- CaptPantalones

I'm right there with ya
Besides trading Vanek and Miller...
Ehrhoff could fetch a 1st, we already turned down a 1st for Ott, and we could take on a bad contract or two that could get us additional 1sts
Two 2nds can even be packaged to move up into the late 1st

We have a lot of options to acquire more 1sts IMO
I think we should do as much as possible to get as many as we can

We build our depth with this deep draft
Then we stink for the next two years an likely draft in the top3... That's when we get our "superstars"

My thing with Domi is his size and skill reminds me too much of Derek Roy

The only "small" guy im interested in is Shinkaruk

But knowing what Regier wants right now, our 1st round picks will both be over 6'

I dont even consider trading Ehrhoff. Too good of a contract and closest to a #1 we have.

But Vanek, Miller and Stafford could all get you a 1. I see 2 of 3 being moved and at least 1-2 more 1sts coming. Although Stafford would have to be packaged for a 1st (ex: Staff and 38 to CBJ for 19)

I just think carolina had to take a defenseman if they pick 5. After they overpayed for semins new deal, they need defenseman. I think NJ phoenix Jets Islanders are most likely to move their picks. The picks imentioned ahead of us are less likely.

Domi may be small, but he has the biggest heart in this draft. If we have 4 first rounders, i would take him.

Yes, the only 2 valuable Vets i wouldnt move are Ott and Ehrhoff, I think they are the type of guys we want the youngsters learning the NHL grind from. Weber isnt as valuable as them, but his leadership and hard working is an excellent influence for a kid new to america like Armia.

If Carolina is going D then I think there is definitely a potential trade to be had. They could trade back to our spot and still have a 50/50 shot at Nurse and they would be 100% to get Ristolainen if Nurse was gone. At #5 we are guaranteed to get 1 of Drouin, Barkov, or Nichuskin.

Any top 3 pick will be similar to the package Colorado wants, which i dont think is worth it.

I agree, they SHOULD go D

But with ongoing talk that 1 of the Staals may move to wing, and Semin and Nischukin having the same agent, it makes any of the 3 C's (Barkov, Lindholm and Monahan) and Nischukin options.

Its just a matter of how NHL ready Carolina thinks one of the D are. Rutherford has always said hes against drafting Dmen real early unless they are very close to NHL ready. IMO outside of Jones the closest is Ristolainen

Probably a few different options. We could give 2 second rounders (we have 7 in the next 3drafts) and 8th or a prospect like Mcnabb and 8th.

The rebuild can be fast-forwarded by 3 years if darcy handles it right and i think he will. This is gunna be a long 15 day wait. My mock draft 2.0 will come out after the cup final. 1.0 is here http://www.glendalemock.com/1.html

O please no, he is not the guy you want on a rebuilding team. He gives effort and female doges when things go wrong. I would keep ott tho, give him the C, have him teach these kids how to work hard. I really like the tempo Ott and Weber have.
- Djtyczy

Never said I wanted him

Pointed it out because of how bad the list is
