I wouldn't be surprised if he retired if Philly buys him out. - sippyd
You think? He's only 35. I would think he might want to play a couple more years. |

Yea I guess you're on to something. Maybe it's just Darcy that's got me all like this. I mean sure he's drafted well and I'm a big fan of what guys like Armia and Girgensons can bring but after so many years of failure I don't what to say.
In the however many years he's been here and tried to build a winner, the only thing he hasn't done is draft top 3, hence my craving for it. - Sabresfan-365
I do understand that kind of thinking too
And MacKinnon prob will be pretty awesome
But since I think we draft top3 in the next two drafts anyways,
I wanna take advantage of how deep this draft class is
Think about it...
All the best teams have stars, but it's the teams that have quality DEPTH behind them that end up winning the Cup
We have the opportunity to build GREAT depth in this draft
And I don't wanna trade tht away just bc we are desperate for a "star"
We will get some very, very good players in the next two drafts as well |

I actually REALLY like what we've done at center
Hodgson
Ennis
Grigorenko
Girgensons
Larsson
All of them could be #2 centers, or better!
Prob not any "Superstars" there...
But I think that's a heck of a group
And we may be able to add Lindholm or Monahan to that group without even moving up!
That works for me really well
(ps, I also LOVE Larsson though) - jdfitz77
Lidjolm maybe. I doubt Monahhan gets by Calgary, and if so,mos def not by Edm. |

Why do I keep hearing that now Miller is staying and Vanek is going. Why would Miller even want to stick around without Vanek. - sippyd
Can't imagine he would
The Sabres might WANT him...
but I don't see him signing an extension, whether Vanek stays or not |

He's made it clear that the last team he's playing for is Philly. He doesn't want to move away from his kids.

Thats the biggest problem in Edmonton. Not enough depth surrounded those amazing talents. |

Prob right, but crazy things do happen at the draft
I happen to like Lindholm a lot more anyways,
So I'm really hoping he falls to us |

Yeah, I've heard people say he is smallish, but at his height he could be a 200lb player no problem .I saw a pic of him in a sexy stretch shirt and he has some beefy shoulders and pecs on him.Don't think size will be a major issue. |

I guess in franchise history they have never drafted higher than 6th. That's actually pretty impressive considering their last few seasons. |

Agree
U guys are starting to build up nicely though
U should get a good player if u trade #7
And having Horcoff & Hemsky & Smid around hardly hurts
If Dubnyk can grow into a solid #1,
U guys only need a couple more pieces to have a team that'll be legit for the next 10yrs or so |

True,
But it will be harder to trade him once the season starts I'd think
And if we lose him for nothing, I swear... Darcy better have one hell of a panic room... Bc there will be a mob of ppl looking to lynch his ass |

Ya, I think he'll be fine
Ott is only 5'11 too and he can hang just fine w the big boys
Lindholm is being compared to guys like Bergeron, Zetterberg & Forsberg...
He's gonna be a heck of a player |

Hemsky and Horc are goners. For what value, we will have to see. We just need solid support players that can keep the goals against down. Honestly I think if we could get a Dave Bolland,Maxim Lappierre,Kulemin,Scuderi and maybe a Raffi Torres or Colby Armstrong we would be fine. People who say we need to gut the talented core for a Shea Weber are out to lunch. |

Well, finishing 9th in the conference has very few benefits, except the pride in saying they were in the hunt. |

No I wasn't. I said that RNH is underestimated and people should watch him closer. He "could" get to that status as he has the skills...but so do a lot of guys. You need the whole package to get to that level. JT, Stamkos, Crosby I'd trade straight up for ANYONE.
I just called your bluff mentioning Hodgepodge in the same sentence. Buffalo raped VCR in that trade btw! lol good job - JLO961
Ik lol we got cody and a depth dman for freaking kassian. I dont know how he was so valuable. |

Last summer, Hodgson worked on his skating w Roberts and got much better
This summer, I expect defense to be the focus & I bet we also see major improvement
I don't get why ppl are down on the kid
He's getting better every year
And he's putting in the work in the offseason with one hell of a former player
I think Hodgson will develop into a guy Sabres fans will love for a long time |

I mentioned this before. Does anyone remember Ninja 3:the Domination? In that POS movie, a mobster hires a Ninja . The Mobsters rival then says "they got a Ninja? Well then get me A NINJA.
I know, the anology is retarded, but substitue NINJA for LUCIC and you have a rival overspending for his own Lucic. |

Drouin could very well be better then MacKinnon, but the price for Tampa to give up the stamkos drouin connection would be similar to the package colorado wants. Im wide open for sending vanek to Nashvile+ for 4th, they really want a top line winger to play across kane. At 4 we can get Barkov. |
