Is Fucale on the level of Subban coming into this draft? Drafting goalies in the first round is such a crap shoot.

He'll likely be the only goalie drafted, he is awesome.

He set a record winning 32 games as a 16 year old in the Q and this past season won 45. This doesn't include the 26 Q playoff wins and the 3 this past Memorial Cup.

Do you believe he will slip in the draft because of the dreaded "played on a team with tremendous talent"? Not that I agree with that statement.

Is he worthy of a top ten selection based on his body of work?

I cant see any team drafting a a goalie top ten or even the first round too hard to predict....Wouldnt mind seeing the flyers take him with the 2nd though.

No, a recent NHL.com mock has the Flyers taking him at 11 while others have him no lower than 22 (Calgary)

Eriksson will be next year's Calder-, Vezina-, Hart-, Conn Smythe-, and Stanley Cup-winning goalie.

Interesting, it certainly rare to see a goalie chosen high, but not unprecedented - Cary Price and Jonathan Bernier (I know he was drafted #11). I would assume there is no reason for Fucale to go back to the Q and his next step would be at the AHL level. Am I correct in that assumption?

Who's the competition for Stolarz next year in London? Patterson still got eligibility left or will they be bringing in another guy? Stollie didn't finish so hot. Hopefully he takes the reigns next year and doesn't let go.

Patterson is in his draft year and will likely push him for the job and they also have a young kid (Liam Herbst) who is still recovering from an injury that they expect to push for some time around December if not sooner.

But this kid might be fighting an up hill battle.

Very interesting, dare I say Mason and ......, I know I'm getting ahead of myself. Certainly make for some interesting banter leading up to training camp.

No it's not his MO. He's signed a lot of players to extensions and not traded them the next Season.

Richards, Carter, JVR...but you're right . It clearly isn't a trend.

Of course, I just expect the unexpected from the Flyers in the first round. I just enjoy discussing the "what if" scenerios.

Ugh..worst season ever and we get JVR vs Kane..
Not that JVR is horrible but I just don't think they are even close to being on the same level.

The whole point is how fair is it to criticize Holmgren for trading for Pronger because he got hurt? And judging a move based on the team results, isn't looking at it the right way. Such as they didn't win the Cup, so trading for Pronger was a failure. Bottom line is, did the move make the team better?
- MJL

To be fair to Homer, I criticized the trade when it was made, not after the injury.

Pronger definitely made the team better, no doubt. And I was as disappointed as the next guy when he was injured, but in no way did I point to his concussion and say I told you so.

Dont know why but I have the "why dont you turn me loose" song in my head picturing that scene.

Boston looks slow as hell, but its nice seeing the 3 Slovaks (Chara, Hossa and Zeus) being solid players in this series.
