As far as Bob winning the vezina, I'm really torn. I was really high on bob. I understand why lavi pulled bob in playoffs and I blame it on flyer nation and this damn notIon oF cuP or bust. Everyone saw that bob had huge raw talent but we put soooo much pressure on this damn team. ( it's no wonder dry island wouldn't work, I'd be drinking too dealing with flyer nation). I too thought ok we got bryz so maybe bob leavingwouldnt be too bad but it didn't take long to see bryz is a complete stiff and today's goalies haVe to Be quick in the net and bob out played bryz a lot. Now mason comes in and it's night and day between him and bryz. Thank god Philly is going to wisen up and buy bryz out. Sorry for ranting.

My guess is they do buyout Bryz but you never know. I personally would like the Flyers to move on from him and that contract.

Trade coots for subban! Oh wait, our 3rd line maybe someday selke winning coots is sooooooo much more better than a Norris winning dman. Ahhh loviNg the days of being laughed at on hb at how my trade proposals are crazy. Guess that eod have turned out ok if we could have made it back 6 months ago as suggested. Go ahead say I'm still crazy. Defend that coots is still better than subban. You know who you are. Say we got streit and how he's better tHan subban and cheaper and didn't cost us coots. Yep.

that's nice, but if the whim hits homer, couts will go like every other former sacred cow. i def think he'll will develop into a solid 2 way 2nd line C, though.

Agreed 100% And I'd trade him in a heartbeat for Norris trophy winner p.k. Subban

That last sentence is very vague. Who could argue that at the time of the trade, the flyers didn't immediately get better?

It's not vague at all. It's very simple.

Richards, Carter, JVR...but you're right . It clearly isn't a trend.
- section32

JVR was traded 9 months and a full NHL Season later after being re-signed. And you didn't say that it was a trend in your first post. You said it was his MO. He has signed a lot of players that haven't been traded, after signing a new deal.
