Hello Oiler fans.
Would you trade this year's 7th overall pick, Paajarvi, Omark and Dubnyk to Montreal for Price and Markov? - therealagent
Hmmm, maybe instead of Paajravi the 2nd? |

No thanks.
Omark has zero value. Markov is a bandaid. I wouldn't do it. |

I'd give that for Price alone. Markov is just gravy, until he gets hurt. |

agreed... Price is probably worth the package alone based on age..
Markov if healthy would really help the blueline

He didn't get hurt last year.
Mac T showed no loyalty to Krueger. Really, he owed him nothing since he didn't hire him but if he shook it up with a new coach, why not do the unexpected and get a new #1. He doesn't want to win in 2-3 years. He clearly wants to start winning now. Price makes sense and needs a change of scenery. Otherwise they should go hard after Smith. Backstrom isn't a big enough upgrade on Dubnyk but Smith most certainly is. |

this could work. in that trade we fill two holes and don't add much salary. overspending abit on clowe could be doable at that point.
zubrus is very depndable too. just a total bandaid - hugefemale dog77
Don't know where this idea that Zubrus is injury prone is coming from. He's played 79 games or more in 4 of the last 6 seasons, 82 in 3 of them. He only missed time in 09-10 because a chara slapshot shattered his shin pad and knee cap. Hopefully he doesn't make it to free agency. |

price is the obvious jewel of the trade, but I dunno If im convinced of his greatness.

in zubrus's first 9 season's, he played 75 games only once...
wouldn't that classify him as a bit "red crossed"

just checked and you're right.
I wont speak for anyone else, but I assume its because he missed half this season and musta thought his previous serious injury was more recent.
either way, as I said, I like zubrus and would be happy to sign him at the right price. and now so even more |

I like Price a lot. I've met him and he's a great guy. But he's not worth twice Duby's value. Not convinced he'd perform better than Duby in front of the oilers defense. |

Yeah, he was injured this year, but it was more bad timing in a short season. I think he'd be a good addition for any team. Big, can skate, and a good forechecker. He's more of a third liner, but can even play on the second to create space for more skilled players even though he's not a big offensive threat. |

injury plagued is injury plagued.... but then again you can say that about a lot of players.... the big question would be, do you count only his last couple season's or the big picture/whole career... I think we differ, but neither of us are NOT neccessarily wrong. |

I think a lot of people think the same thing about Mike Smith. Or Craig Anderson, or Brian Elliott, etc.. Dubnyk is probably good enough to win with a good defense. Niemi and Crawford and Osgood aren't stars either. |

Niemi is a pretty good goalie, sharks got a gift from the Hawks.
speaking of which, wouldnt be surprised to see Huet back in the NHL soon. |

no he has but what i'm saying is that you don't need a star goalie to win the stanley cup. he is better today, much better, than he was when the hawks beat the leighton led flyers. dubnyk is or can be as good as those guys if he has the right players in front of him. without defense, most goalies not named lundquist will get ventilated. it might be the hardest job in the world. |

By that standard you would have to consider Kessel injury prone even though he hasn't missed a game in three seasons. You can say difference of opinion, but I don't think its fair to call half the league injury prone. |

I agree in someways but others no, A sober Grant Fuhr or a Bill Randford in his prime would make a big change in the Oilers |

He's been more of a winger in NJ, but he's versatile and has spent some time at center. You can pretty much throw him in any situation and he's effective. Good on faceoffs too. |

I'd rather go after a guy like Ference than keep Fistric, but at the right price he's good in that he's a somewhat faster Peckham. - Morris
I saw BBC at the Northlands Horse track tonight dressed up like a baaaaad baaaaad hipster... royal blue pants, slightly les blue jacket, fedora and white glasses... if my wife wasn't complaining to get home I wanted to ask him where he thought he'd be in October... |

Of course you wood, that's why the Oilers will never attain anything of value because you seem to think you can give up poop to get stars.
Thank Christ you're not the GM!! |
