Nashville trades Bobby Butler for T.J. Brennan. Minor deal, but one that I think could really work out for them. |

I still like Fistric. I'd give him a 1 year deal @ 1.5 but not the 2 mill he's wanting. He could really use those bone jarring hits on this team full of pu$$ies - Ihatebrianburke

Would we find something there that we don't already have in Smid and Nick Schultz? It's not that those guys wouldn't help, but beyond more reliable depth we really need that dynamic two-way guy. - Morris
Brian Campbell for Hemsky maybe? |

Sounds like there is a DJ out of Ontario - Dean Blundell of 102.1 The Edge, mocking the Pelss apparent suicide, claiming "He didn't want to go back to Edmonton".
Really classy.
He's on twitter @ItsDeanBlundell if you want to send him some love..

100% done. That would be amazing. The only problem with Campbell is that he's overpaid, but he's a tremendous defenseman. |

Agree, big price tag, but brings a lot more to the table than Cryin Whitney |

It's tough to have a slew of guys you want to call off limits, but it's possible so long as you get a few good deals on FAs or get guys who are functional but overpaid. I'd look at a guy like Ryan Malone if he could be had for a bargain too. |
|

I'd rather go after a guy like Ference than keep Fistric, but at the right price he's good in that he's a somewhat faster Peckham. - Morris
Ference is awesome but I would prefer to have 8 dmen that can play. Boston currently has 10 guys that can play in the NHL |

Doug Murray or Wade Redden may help (not trolling) - Byfuglien Ate Me
Murray will want too much for what he brings to the table. He's slowed down quite a bit and wouldn't put his stock too much higher than Fistric's |

How much stock would you put in: Hamrlik, kubina, Kaberle?? |

Would've been nice to make a pitch for him by sending out a VandeVelde or sometihng. |

I member when clouts had a boner for him the day you guys traded for him.think he even argued with a stars fan who suggested he wasnt that good. - walshyleafsfan
That was me. A couple people in the thread thought he was the answer to the oilers d problems and all there prayers had been answered and that the stars were fleeced. I couldn't get threw to him that he sucked, but I guess he gets it now. |

heres alittle optimism for Friday. the kids respond to Eakins and with the losing culture almost gone the kids grab the reins. with eberles hand back to 100% he should get over 60pts, halls shoulder fully healed has another great year and is 1st inline for the C when sam is traded{I think sam deserves it for atleast a year or 2} the nuge comes back nov or dec at 100% and isn't as worried about getting hurt and his shot will return, his passing and hockey sense was never gone. Shultz played like he did for the first 20 games this year all year next year. clearly looked gassed the last 28 games which is understandable playing in 2 leagues. yakupov gets 60pts and his work ethic rubs off on the team. dubynuk has his best year yet and while I was complaining about his 25 35 shots a game, actually help him advance to the number 1 and not on the oilers but most teams. the oilers sign afew ufa that make an impact and don't play like they came to Edmonton to end there careers. its alot to hope for but being and oilers fan that's all we have. if we draft anyone give them a year in the minors. with the vets mostly gone will b awesome to c how the young guns respond when theres no1 to blame but them, make or break time. |

I'm not going to say that I'm suprised this came out of Ontario, but I'm sure there's more than a few Leaf fans with class that are equally offended. |

Very little. but as a 7th Defensmen can do a bit of coaching...a player like Hamrlik or Kuba are not without their uses. $1M max though. |

concussions and now this.
as great as he'd be for us, im not sure hes worth the risk - hugefemale dog77
Horton true value comes out in the playoff's anyway. The time will come for the Oilers to go after guys like that, but for now I would be just happy with some regular season consistancy. |

He doesn't suck and nobody got fleeced per se. My only complaint is that he got really injured. Other than that, it was one of the few great moves for Tambs to get us a player we could really use. |

What are you talking about? Shoulder injuries fit right in here. Might as well rename him Ryan Horton. |

I can see all of that happening...but I'm not sure it equals success. Those veteran UFA's you speak of better be the right ones or we are still in trouble. |

Ya and I'm sure if enough of you write to Howard Stern then you can get him fired too.
Look I don't mean to sound like such an A-hole but Dean Blundell is pretty much a shock jock radio host. He says a lot of controversial stuff all the time. No need to get worked up because a shock jock radio show made an inappropriate joke. |
