Would you trade this year's 7th overall pick, Paajarvi, Omark and Dubnyk to Montreal for Price and Markov?

Markov is too injury prone to be worth much. Granted Omark is worth even less.

Price has not had much better stats than Dubnyk. It is the full team in front of Price that gets him his wins.

So, no, this is too much an overpayment on the Oil end.

I like Price a lot. I've met him and he's a great guy. But he's not worth twice Duby's value. Not convinced he'd perform better than Duby in front of the oilers defense.

I agree. RNH is small but don't forget this time last year we were upset he didn't get rookie of the year because he had the same points and missed 20 games.

Why get rid of Eberle though? Who are we trying to get that we need to trade a 23 year old with his talent? He has already shown he is good for signing long term reasonable contracts. That whole line and Yak could be our Sedins. Or if we are going to trade him, don't do it coming off a losing year where he played injured.

I do see some merit in putting Duchene and him together though. I wonder if they saw the same at the world cup. Eberle is a go to guy with a big wrist shot but what is he worth to Colorado? Number 1 overall + a player. Maybe Lands, or Varlamov and a prospect/pick (Rumours are they are shopping for an upgrade), Maybe statsny?(If we could extend him at a reasonable price after next year.

Many people saw what he could do and maybe the offers are too good. EVERY player has a price. Eberle's might be the first pick and Lands. There are numerous offers that work for him but I don't see the Oilers ever getting their asking price on the young guys.

Klefbom's asking price, maybe. Would you trade him for a top 3 this year? All seem NHL ready. They are going to be Jones, Drouin, Mackinnon or Nich in some order. I think we could find a spot for any of those on or roster next year. Everyone has a price. There are no untouchables, there are just people other teams aren't willing to pay our asking price for.

In some ways but I can back my opinion if you would like. I do think Eberle is an elite player. I do think he will play for Team Canada at the Olympics. That is the caliber of player we are talking about.

As for Klefbom. I have only seen him play half a game. I am going of TSN articles, prospect ranking sites. This guy is suppose to be our best prospect and I don't remember a site that doesn't think he won't be a 1-2 player eventually. That is big.

My point is, everyone has a price. Everyone player in the league can be had by the Oilers. It is just that the price is too much for our young guys. Someone might pay it but just like us getting a star from another team, you over pay for the real talent.
