This past year showed how weak the Oil are at centre, if Horcoff leaves we barely have 2 NHL centres... Hodgson, regardless of what line he plays on, will be better than what the Oil have.

Stafford a couple years ago maybe. right now, hes a sideways move for us. and yes id be interested in sekera. but not as the main piece plus some throw ins for the 7th.

Chicago is up against the cap, so there's no way they can pay him

his skating is average, and I think true shutdown guys might be a little easier to find than the skill set our other d prospects like marincin and gernat possess.

we're so soft though. we need size, toughness and tenacity all the way through our lineup. I just don't see us taking him.

and yes, I think mact is actively shopping that pick for defensive help. I think he'll trade the pick if he can find even a reasonable deal.

if not and he has another mediocre season we wont want that contract. or if he tears it up and starts really fulfilling that promise again, the sabres wont deal him
