I was kidding, implying he got traded again today. IMO The Brennan trade was still stupid. We developed him for 5 years and then barely have him a shot

Are u crazy trade Miller and Psyck and 3 first rounders for Nate MacKinnon. Garth are you a complete idiot? Way too much to give up. Glad you aren't the Sabres GM. We would have years and years of misery. Why not Miller and one or both of our seconds for the 7th pick. If this is such a deep draft I want quantity over just 1 player.

so if someone keeps saying they would trade Miller for Edmonton's 7th round pick even though they really mean the 7th overall pick you wouldn't try to correct them?

Miller cannot officially sign until free agency. Same reason why Malkin agreed to a deal in principal, the contract isn't official yet.

He can do a contract extension with Buffalo anytime he wants . That is why it is called a sign and trade.

The Sabres are holding the draft live at the arena .
It's free as well as parking in the ramp being free.

I can honestly say that for the first time since about mid-February, I am excited about the Sabres again! I am willing to give Darcy the benefit of the doubt because really, what choice do we have? He isn't going anywhere. If you add all of the draft picks that we have this year, plus Miller, Vanek and Stafford potentially being moved and the fact that the Sabres have stated they are trying to move up, I think it all adds up to big things happening at the end of the month! June 30th can't come fast enough!

Darcy and Ron should have been fired when they moved from 28 place all the way up to 23. Now it is going to cost them much much more to get into top tier of draft when they could have been staring at Drouin, Nicushkin, Barkov or Monahan with the 3rd pick. Dumb and Dumber, that is our brain trust we are depending on to turn the franchise around.

If we trade Taylor Hall and Nail Yakupov for the 1st overall, we're not "moving up 6 spots". One wouldn't say that, because it isn't correct.

I 100% understood that he wanted to use that 7th from Edmonton or combo of our other 1st rounders to move up to #1.
But as I stated , Miller and Pysyk is far too much to move up 1 spot.
I don't want the Sabres to overpay for Mackinnon when I want Nichushkin anyway.
I want a winger unless you intend on the Sabres relying on Stafford for scoring from the wing?

the wording in your original response doesn't suggest you understood his proposal.

you wouldn't be 'moving up' one spot from the 8th. your pick has nothing to do with that trade.

Um.. no it isn't. In fact, Edmonton would never take that deal.

And I don't want to be a stickler, but PLEASE stop phrasing it as "moving up 1 more spot." It's not moving up 1 more spot. It's acquiring the 7th pick for two players. I still think you are under the impression that the 8th pick is involved when you phrase it that way.

The deal, on paper, by itself, is a good hockey trade.

But why in the world would LA want Ott or Ennis over Brown? Would you? I wouldn't. Not to mention giving up their insurance policy should Quick get hurt.

It doesn't make any sense.

Brown and Bernier are the most valuable pieces in that deal. To get both one of Grigorenko or the 8th overall pick must be included somehow.
