Not in my opinion. Not even close. Yeah, Letang plays with some better offensive weapons, and that's probably why his point totals would have blown Subban's out of the water if he'd played a full season. But Letang is also counted on quite heavily as a defensive rock on that team too (which many don't seem to realize), and quite simply, Subban isn't nearly as much. Whether Habs fans think he's capable of it or not is irrelevant, he wasn't asked to do it this season. And that's why Letang should, far and away, win the Norris.

And as a team, Pittsburgh only scored 16 more goals. When you look at the number of goals that Letang was a part of, as a percentage of team output (in the games he played), it was still way higher than Subban was, as a part of his team output.

He did well, and he certainly makes the Montreal defense a hell of a lot better, but for me Suter is by far the best DEFENSEman in the league, hands down. He plays 4 more minutes per game, and does so in absolutely all situations. The norris seems to have become a trophy for highest scoring defenseman, but in my opinion, there is nobody in the league as good as Suter

I just ask because I was completely against Karlsson's Norris last. There really should be a Bobby Orr trophy for the best offensive defenseman and keep the Norris for the Dmen who are the best in all 3 zones that season.

That'd be a good call... there's the Selke for best defensive forward, so the Orr Trophy for best offensive defenseman makes sense.
