Interest in Miller?
I'm sure we'd pay half his salary to help u guys out w the cap?
And Miller would likely re-sign at a discount to play on a contender and have a legit shot at the cup... Which I'm sure he'd win with Pitt

I'd trade Fleury + for Miller in a heart beat.

I can't imagine we'd actually want Fleury,
I think we'd rather go with Enroth & Hackett since we are gonna suck anyways
I'd guess we'd want a couple pretty good prospects from ya, since we are rebuilding

I'm not sure I want to give up a couple of pretty good prospects for Miller. Not saying he wouldn't be an improvement though. I do think Fleury would be a very good goalie elsewhere in a system that is more defensive orientated. He is one of the most athletic goalies there is and he wouldn't have to flop as much elsewhere.

That said, Shero has already come out and said he isn't going anywhere. I don't see him doing something different. Too bad for us. He hasn't come out and said that about Letang though, so ...

I see Shero's decision as a way to try to keep Flower's stock high. I'm pretty sure no one is pleased by his playoffs performances. I bet if there's a deal we can't pass up, Fleury is gone.

Fleury would do well in Buffalo, I think, even though their team suck. He's a pretty good regular season goalie.

There really isn't a reason for Shero to sing anything but Fleury's praises. Being critical of Fleury in the public spotlight does nothing to help Shero or the Penguins.

It is usually not a wise idea to bash on a guy you plan on keeping, or plan on trading. I don't read much into the words from that press conference as it pertains to Fleury. Shero's actions will speak louder than words.

Over confidence, lack of effort, lack of heart, and complete refusal to adapt.

I wont mention the awful roster and game plan moves by a total joke of a coach, I have said it from day one Bylsma is not the answer to this team.

Otherwise great season.

Epic Failure.

The problem is and remains, OV showed up for half the season. He was terrible through 20 games. People were calling him out; people were talking about trading him. You can't win a major award like this by playing good hockey 50% of the time. Sorry. It has nothing to do with dislike. It has everything to do with his lack of playing good hockey for a large portion of the season.

Crosby was the best player in the league bar none. If not him, Tavaras deserved it before OV. He didn't look shoddy for 50% of the season.

His offensive production had steadily been decreasing for several seasons. People, myself included, wondered if he was just done. You say he didn't show up for half the season : I think he was trying and it simply wasn't working for him. I will say this again : if you believe the MVP goes to the best player in the league for a given regular season, Ovechkin should not have won (Crosby was the best player in the league, no argument). If you, however, believe that the MVP goes to the guy who is most valuable to his team, Ovechkin is a worthy candidate/winner. As for Tavares, he seemed like a worthy candidate as well. I'm not going to claim to have tracked his season to know if he had stretches where he didn't produce or if he was consistent throughout (or who he scored against), though frankly I don't know if that is so relevant to the conversation unless you are simply looking for a reason to downgrade a particular player's candidacy.

I honestly think that is the problem in the first place. It seems like half the voters vote that way and the other half vote for who is the most valuable to his team.

Personally I prefer the best player in the league gets the MVP. Playing on a great team with other great players shouldn't hurt you in award voting (like it did with Toews), at least in my opinion.

Nice job on the blogs, Gunner. Not sure if you are interested in doing this permanently, but you would be a great addition to the site. As for the issue with Shero/Fleury, you are absolutely right, nothing to be gained by the team being critical of Fleury in public. I will be surprised (maybe pleasantly ) if Fleury is on the roster in the Fall.
