Absolutely and completely zero chance of JBo getting bought out by the Blues, regardless of what Petro & Shatty make. So many other things would happen first if we were in cap trouble. And why people persist in thinking we will be in cap trouble when Blues have 5th most cap space in the league, and only 4 players we need to sign with it, is quite confusing.

On top of that, Jbo only has one year left making big bucks. If he is willing to play for the sort of salary the Penguins could afford if he makes it to UFA next year, Blues would extend him at that rate before he gets there.

I'm not one of them. To me, he is a key player for the Pens. It's just that $7-8M is a little rich. It will be tough for him (as it would for most players) to ever live up to a contract like that.

KL and AP both play the right side, wouldn't be paired like Nieds/Prong. A more apt comparison would be Pronger/Macinnis. But Blues are happy with their defense the way it is. Blues would be unlikely to offer Letang the contract he is looking for if he was a UFA, let alone give up major pieces in order to get him.

His play was pretty bad these playoffs, but so was Martin's last yr. July 5th will be a really interesting time for the Pens. I think Cooke, Dupuis, TK, Jeffrey, Morrow, Murray will be gone. Maybe Iggy stays. Moving Nisk will be difficult.

I'd love Stewart on the Pens, but not at the expense of Bennett. It's early, but he has displayed some rare skills that are far superior to what Stewart brings.

Not that good of a deal for Pens IMO...Ballard has negative value...so its basically Edler and Gaunce for a signed Letang? 2nd=Kennedy/Jeffrey

I think lots of teams could top that...
Wouldn't a deal of something like: Kulemin, Gardiner or Rielly and a 1st for a signed Letang be something more interesting for the Pens?
