Hamonic is an RFA, Moulson has 1 more year left on his contract but by losing Streit, they do need to spend money. We'll see if they do it, who knows. At least, the team has finally arrived but now they need to take the next step which I think they will

Gotta spend it to make it in the sports world.

Because he first tried to get approval on the lighthouse project, a billion dollar deal, that the idiots from the county reject, all politics. So now that they lose the team, they are willing to take bids on renovating the coliseum. That's why the county is in financial trouble, idiots. The referendum was his last attempt. He loses 20 million a year for 10 years, what else should he have done builiding wise.

Yikes. That's some serious change. And why is it that idiots who don't know how to manage money seem to be running this country at every level of government? And I don't mean Republican or Democrat, I mean f'n self-serving idiots.

If they sign Hamonic above a bridge contract I think it is a step in the right direction. They may not have to do so, but if the team wants to leave an impression that we're serious about spending money, what better way then to take care of the #1 d-man on the club. It will be an interesting offseason.

I would also want to go to the organization that has missed the playoffs 7 (?) times in their existence. The same organization that is second only to the Red Wings in playoff series wins since 2003 (yes that includes the season that shan't be spoken of as well as the playoffless season that is wrapping up now....).

You know. Rather than an abysmal organization that hasn't been relevant since....well.....yeah

- Giroux_Is_God

With all of those playoff appearances, I'm a little surprised they havent won a few cups , but I guess I would just rather be a mediocre team that keeps making the playoffs, but doesn't win the cup, kind of like the Rags. They might be second to the wings in appearances, but the Wings win cups. Last time I checked, the cup count was:

Isles - 4
Flyers - 2

But at least the Flyers make the playoffs. Wait, they'd didn't this year. Must be an off year.

There just always seems to be some kind of BS floating around Wang. Toss in the other stuff, and it seems that he may well have pissed off officials enough for them to make a joke out of the situation.

It just always strikes me odd, when a guy says he'll pay for evrything and then a couple year later the taxpayers are asked for money

- Jsaquella

It's true, there is some unknown out there with Wang. One day, we will find out what really went down.

You would think they would, but who knows. Garth has always seemed to take care of his core, so I would expect him to sign him

Do you think the Isles have a better team than the Flyers?

Confirmation from a source close to situation: former Flyers goaltending prospect Joacim Eriksson will leave SEL to sign with an NHL team.

I don't watch the flyers so really can't say much about them other than they didn't make the playoffs, which I don't know why. After watching the way the Isles played in the last 2 months plus against Pitt, they were VERY impressive, a totally different team that what we have seen in the recent past. So I hesitantly would say yes unless things change

Not just playoff appearances, Finals appearances... The Flyers have had 8 since they entered the league, including the 2 cups they won.

Granted, nothing matters but winning the cup, but no fan would take a cup from the 70s or 80s over a Finals appearance (and hopefully a win) sometime after Y2k.

Full cirlcle...if Wang spends some money and gets some support from the community, the Isles should be contenders. As we all know, all you have to do is get into the playoffs, get hot, and good things can happen.

I don't know about that as I was there for all 4 cups, but not for nothing, it's time for another one. It's been long enough without one. Maybe the Isles will meet the Flyers in the conf finals one of these days, just for old times sake. We'll see.
