It does not make sense for Colorado. Why would they trade the number one pick for a goalie that will be UFA after next season and not a lock to resign there?

You guys undervalue what we have here so much. Miller is a goalie in his prime & available, superstargoalies dont come around too often. & patrick roy is the perfect sucker to targettarget

MacKinnon is an upgrade over Grigs, so those who say you can't put him and Myers in the same deal have to see that.

If they do make that move I guess from there you could do Miller + 3 +16? I know this is a crazy ass overpayment but really if you were in Colorado's shoes this would be what you expect for the top pick no?

Joe Thornton number 1 overall, has similar skill set to Grigo had 7 pts in 55 games in BOS when he was 18-19. It's way too early to tell how good Grigo will be

I think it will cost too much to move up to grab McKinnon at 1 or 2. Monahan seems like the kind of player we could move up to get and wouldnt cost us an arm and a leg. I like what I read about him so I'm hoping we get him. Otherwise I wouldnt mind just keeping the picks and maybe dealing Vanek for more picks/prospects.

i personally dont think you can overpay for a franchise player. so hard to get- esp in buffalo. surrounding parts so much easier to add. plus the initial negative effect will put you in position to draft another one next year...

I commend all of you for staying in this conversation this long. But IMO this is not the year we get to make the big splash tradeup or whatever. No team picking top 5 is trading out for anything we can offer.

Miller is only valueble to team he wont play for like Edmonton. Vanek makes a Million too much and the cap is going down. This wont end with fireworks like people want. End of story.

I would agree. But not because they think Grigo is a bust already or that Mackinnon is so much better already. Having both of them would be best case scenario and having Hodgson or Ennis as part of the deal
