You are talking/posting like I did last summer. He was untouchable, the Sabres should not trade him etc, but after last season, my belief that he can't be traded has faded. For the 1st pick overall, Myers can be traded and without doubt he is in the conversations to move up into the top 3. He has to be because the Sabres only have so many valuable players and he hasn't sh*t on himself enough yet to deter other teams from wanting him.

yMyers to move up the most 7 spots?

Well if the deep draft of 2003 is any indication: we get to draft a coburn type at 8 and a Bernier type at 16.
- RynoBull

Which is why we need to trade up

Myers
Grigo
McNabb
For Marc Andre Fluery.

i may be mistaken but i think they were refrenceing the blog where it said Duchene would be in the mix too
- hubie

You are mistaken, any center from the Avs being referenced in a trade is either Stastny or RoR once he can be traded in Feb...

Although anyone can be traded, Duchene and Landeskog are the only two Avs who are as close to untouchable as you can get

Who would want Myers?

A few things to consider (all numbers via behindthenet.ca):

• In his 11 games last season, the Sabres are allowing 5.39 goals per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 play with him on the ice. That is the worst mark for any defenseman in the NHL who has played a mininum of five games. And no other defenseman is close. That is bad.

• The Sabres are allowing 31.6 shots per 60 minutes of 5-on-5 play with him on the ice. That is 12th worst in the NHL. That also is bad.

• When Myers is on the ice, only 43 percent of the total shot attempts belong to the Sabres, which means they're probably spending more time in their own end than they are in the opposition's end.

• Making those numbers even worse is that the Sabres have sheltered him a bit, starting him in the offensive zone more than 53 percent of the time and not asking him to go up against other team's top lines.

That makes his poor play look even worse.

Because the crows on Hockeybuzz keep cawing about how it will happen. Everyone on here is linked somehow to the orgainzation which is has created a grassroots movement that has influenced the powers that be in the Sabres organization. This power surge has made its way to Colorado where the Av's senior management has succomed to the power of the anonymous voice of Sabre fans on Hockeybuzz.

Stop watching NFL Live and reading Profootballtalk, the NHL draft isn't like the NFL's. It takes a lot to move up into the top 3 from #8 in the NHL draft. There is a drop off in talent after the top 2-3, then another dropoff after 5 or 6.

Negative Nancy award today goes to Ryno! Kidding bud!

Sorry i got busy of work but my two cents is people have bad years. Myers had one for apparently not working out enough and whatever other reasons. He has a chance to bounce back and I am sure some GM's believe that.

I am glad Homer is back at it but why are we ripping on him constantly. A joke or two and move onto next guy please!

We actually should be mad at Darcy instead of anyone else! Priorities people!

Im not entirely sure youre even reading it properly because I looked it up and his Team GA per 60 min of Tyler Myers being on the ice is 2.84 which ranks him like 38th amongst defensemen who played at least 20 games.

Myers was beyond horrible last season. He was outplayed by Rudy and Pysyk. That alone is so inexcuseable I would openly welcome a salary dump but just giving him away. I don't even care what he
"becomes". 7 million once to be the worst D-man in the league is enough.

Well if the deep draft of 2003 is any indication: we get to draft a coburn type at 8 and a Bernier type at 16.

sooooo-

- eveyone on here who think the sabres will trade up are crows

and

- if we stay put we will get the next coburn/bernier

Myers was beyond horrible last season. He was outplayed by Rudy and Pysyk. That alone is so inexcuseable I would openly welcome a salary dump but just giving him away. I don't even care what he
"becomes". 7 million once to be the worst D-man in the league is enough.

Our defense struggled a lot because of our incapable forward lines defensive play as well.

It begins with Hodgson and Ennis when they were the 1-2 at center. Hodgson could not handle any defensive responsibility what so ever. Ennis was terrible when he was put out there to help defend the lead.

I wont even go into how terrible our 3rd and 4th lines were.

You forgive you and forget. Wasn't long ago when Drew Doughty was on the s*&% list in LA when he held out in 2011 and demanded $7MM a year. Came into the season totally out of shape and had a season low 36 pts. Terry Murray gets fired half way through the season and next thing you know Doughty becomes the player he should be under Sutter.

so are you syaing there is a correlation between giving up goals and having players who cant play defense?

Thats true too. Having your top 3 centers 23, 22 and 18 years old, none of which are known for defensive skill was a terrible idea.

Or we could trade
Bernier
Coburn
Myers
Grigo
McNabb
For Marc Andre Fluery.

- sbroads24

Valid point, but I would counter we would not draft a goalie at #1. We would draft Staal.

If this years draft is anything like this one we have to trade Miller and Vanek for more picks this year. If we pick right We could almost build a whole team with all the picks. More picks please.

Im not entirely sure youre even reading it properly because I looked it up and his Team GA per 60 min of Tyler Myers being on the ice is 2.84 which ranks him like 38th amongst defensemen who played at least 20 games.
