It's why I'd shy away from Zadorov or maybe even nurse at the draft. Ristolanen however most have as a sure shoe in to be a top 4 puck moving dman. At 11 I don't need my dman to have #1 potential. If he's a sure fire top 4 puck mover just draft

I'd rather stay put and draft either him or, if available, I prefer Pulock.

I still think that Pulock may have the best potential for d-men. He already has unbelievable offensive instincts, and is sound defensively.... yet he has only been a d-man for two years. His work ethic (according to articles ive read) is unbelievable, and he has decent size (6'1 210lbs)...

I really hope they take this kid.

Kapanen turns 40 today - sign him now Holmgobler -

Anyways, loved Sami-

I always thought Sami got a raw deal from the Flyers. He was asked to come back as a 13th forward after the 2008 playoffs. Guy was nothing but heart.

I'd love it.
That said, I totally expect to a draft a defensive-minded center.

+1

Off topic, this rumor out of Tampa is very interesting to me. Where Vinny is traded to TOR and then bought out only to come back. I don't know why no one is talking about how the league wold put the screws to Tampa for cap circumvention, but it sure is an interesting proposal.

Wouldn't surprise me if they traded up to get him. I would be unhappy.

As an aside, I saw an interview with Monahan and he is one very articulate and intelligent young man. Very mature for his age.

I think that anyone they draft at 11 will be a good player (or at least has the potential). That said, unless a top-5 player just slips into their lap (Couturier), I'm really pulling hard for Pulock. But if they get Monahan, I won't be devastated. Also, for the record, I'm not a fan of BoHo at 11. Maybe at 16, but not 11.

You think another year in the OHL will really benefit him? I thought he was on the cusp at the start of last season, but would imagine 7-9 minutes a night in the NHL (obviously in a defensive role) would do more than 18-20 minutes in the OHL.. I guess he is probably the most interesting prospect to watch through camp.

Not interested in giving Laughton the opportunity to earn the 4th line center duties?

I don't see a 4th year in Juniors making much sense. The Flyers need to start getting some young players on EL contracts contributing more.

Not interested in wasting a year of his ELC on the 4th line playing next to Rosehill and Rinaldo.

I don't think another year of juniors will benefit him (or hurt him), but it will benefit the team.

Re-sign Hall and have Holmstrom waiting in line in Adirondack.

/Really, really hate the U-20 AHL rule.

I think Hall would be better for this team next year but not longterm. I would give Laughton the opportunity if he earns it in training camp. If he doesn't then maybe Hall is still looking for a contract. Or maybe you offer Hall a tryout. btw I think the 4th line will be Talbot-Laughton-Rinaldo/Rosehill (only for the big heavy games). Darn good 4th line if you ask me!

What's best for the players development trumps any concern over any ELC issues. Richards started out playing on the 4th line. Rosehill and Rinaldo are capable 4th line players. I think going back to Juniors will hurt him. It delays his development in the NHL.

He's the type of guy that's good to have stashed in the AHL as a back-up 4th line center. Injuries have really derailed his NHL career.

If he's ready to contribute in any capacity, and they believe sending him to junior will only stagnate his growth. By all means keep him up. Hall is ok but why not aim higher. They didn't burn a year off last year thats what's important

is he any good at faceoffs? i felt like hall's faceoff ability made an immediate positive impact on puck possession but i don't follow those advanced stats...

I know they signed him to a two year deal, but I still think Rosehill is our 13th forward come the start of the season...

McGinn-Laughton-Rinaldo would be a very good 4th line IMO.

This. There are a lot of players who start out on the 3rd/4th line as rookies and have to earn their way up the ladder. Start Laughton as the 4th line center. I'd expect he'll have an opportunity to earn some PK time. If he plays well, maybe he earns some split duty on the 3rd line. Especially if one of your centers goes down, he can step into the 3rd line. Hell, even Claude Giroux started his 3rd season playing on a line with Aaron Asham.

Question: Unless you have an emergency (Giroux in 07/08), if a player is sent to juniors, he must remain in juniors, correct? You can't recall him in the middle of the season.
