Sorry about that...got busy at work so I was trying to hurry up with a response and consequently didn't go to in depth.

I haven't seen a lot of Gardiner but how is he in the D-zone? We have puck movers young and old but what we really need is a head shaker in the D-zone.

- uf1910

He's a lot better/faster than Mark Barberio imo. He struggled at boxing guys out and actually playing defense like a d-man, but in the playoffs, I don't think that was as much of an issue. He had a good habit of boxing Seguin out, and using his stick and speed to break up plays. His puck possession skills were elite (coach's words, not mine). But don't ever expect him to be a banger. Stick him with Gudas and I think you have your #3 and #4 d-man.

Personally, I don't want to move Gardiner. I think him and Franson would make a great pair on our D.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.

I mean, Komisarek does a lot of things in his own zone that make me shake my head, but I'm guessing that's not what you are looking for...

Ok, but would you part with Franson if he and our 21 pick got us the 7th over-all? I posed that question to the Oilers fans and they seemed strangely agreeable. Complete fan speculation and all.

Nicely done. And not that kind of head-shaking no, Brewer provides plenty of head-shaking opportunities already.

If you ever do eat meat, can she smell it on you hours later/the next day, like through your pores?

I ask because I convinced my bro-in-law to eat some bacon once and my vegetarian sis-in-law got seriously pissed about how he was going to smell.

Hmmm tempting. Probably good for the long run (Monahan might be there), but leaves a gaping hole on the blueline.

Lets look at the past 12 7th overall picks....how many are worth a d-man like Franson who finished among the top d-men point getters and a 21st overall pick? I guess it would have to be a draft decision, if I were a scout and I love a player as much as I love Lindholm, I might ask for 2nd round pick coming back with the 7th overall.

Year Player Pos. Drafted From Drafted By
2012 Mathew Dumba D Red Deer (WHL) Minnesota Wild
2011 Mark Scheifele C Barrie (OHL) Winnipeg Jets
2010 Jeff Skinner C Kitchener (OHL) Carolina Hurricanes
2009 Nazem Kadri C London (OHL) Toronto Maple Leafs
2008 Colin Wilson C Boston U. Nashville Predators
2007 Jakub Voracek C Halifax (QMJHL) Columbus Blue Jackets
2006 Kyle Okposo RW Des Moines (USHL) New York Islanders
2005 Jack Skille RW U.S. Junior National Team (Intl) Chicago Blackhawks
2004 Rostislav Olesz C Vitkovice HC (Czech) Florida Panthers
2003 Ryan Suter D U.S. Junior National Team (Intl) Nashville Predators

Haha no, she'll cook a steak for anyone who asks, we just phased meat out over time. I still eat seafood, she doesn't.

As for the smell I think your sister was over-reacting. Strict vegetarians do have different scents than omnivores, but i highly doubt eating a little bacon would affect anything more than farts.
